LAUGHING STOCK

Thu Dec 04, 2014 10:38 am

Why do people on here keep saying we are a laughing stock or the biggest joke in British football ? For a start the vast majority of fans are only concerned about their own club. They may show an interest in other club's results and attendances but that's about it. It really is quite conceited to believe that other fans are interested in our fortunes but even if they are, so what.

99% of fans couldnt care less about cardiff,

they have no idea who manages us, no idea who plays for us, and couldnt actually point to where directly is on a map.

We think we are alot more important than we are.

Got to say I agree. The rebrand us made us a laughing stock yes but things like the incidents with Cala doesnt. No one cares about us really.

Luke, I agree with both posts above

There are a lot worse things going on at many other clubs and (if people are honest) how much attention do we really pay to them?? :?

Very little (at best) is the answer, so the doom and doom merchants on here who think the "whole world" is laughing at us are deluded

The rest of the world couldn't give a flying feck about us any more than we truly give about them...and I include the 'Jacks' in that statement! ;)

No we weren't, away from internet land, the vast majority of other club's fans are not the slightest bit interested, no one really cares.

Threads on other clubs forums about our rebrand must have all been started by Cardiff fans then....

I agree, they dont really care about us, just laughing at us.
But then many of our fans never really cared about our identity in the first place. :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

I would say that we are a easy target for away fans due to red etc. And probably a laughing stock in that respect but ad soon as game is over they look at next fixture and table etc and don't give a toss about us any more

As I stated, away from internet land/forums...when I actually meet other teams fans face to face, the chat usually goes something like ' how do you think you'll do this season, hows so and so[ normally an ex players of theirs] doing for you, the colour change very rarely comes up in conversation. I hate whats gone on, and rarely go anymore, but most other fans quite frankly couldn't give a damn about our off field fiasco.

To be honest, where I am based for much of the year (USA) a lot of people have never heard of Wales, let alone Cardiff, and while a lot of people I know have heard of the likes of Arsenal, Man U, Chelsea etc. I have yet to meet anyone who has heard of Cardiff City until I mention us. Away from internet forums, the only people who pay any real attention to what is going on at Cardiff City are Cardiff City supporters.

Re: LAUGHING STOCK

The great thing about Vinnie is that he has deflected all of our embarassment onto himself. The media have painted him to be a fruitcake with billions to waste, so it doesn't matter there is some logic to his decisions.

The "never at our club" fans are generally too dull to realise how insignificant the average fan is nowadays. The game has moved on, being taunted by Michael Mcintyre characters is hardly a laughing stock.

The old school opposition fans who claim we've sold out probably don't go anymore for much the same reasons as half the topics on this forum. Do the Chelsea old school still go to the bridge and are proud at what they have become. We are the same but just got red shirts to add to the dissapointment.

The only thing that's a laughing stock is Tan, it's all his doing after all? Hardly like we really had much choice and the many that did choose don't go anymore which is there choice like me. Most other fans I've spoken to feel sorry for us and see Tan as what's all wrong in the modern game. more like a few jacks stirring shite.

Re: LAUGHING STOCK

Make no mistake about it. You lot and your club are a laughing stock from top to bottom, and the best thing about it is you've only yourselves to blame. It's not just us jacks.. everyone is laughing at you

For what it's worth and from what I have to put up with whenever I meet up with the boys down the pub - Everton fan, Wolves fan, Liverpool fan, Swansea fan, Shrewsbury fan - most are taking the piss about the REDBIRDS but fair play most feel that it could happen to them at anytime within modern football with a nutter like Tan in charge.

So yes, I would say we are a laughing stock outside Cardiff but they say it with sympathy (except Swansea) and know it can happen to any club.

I really detest what Tan has done to our club, my club - TW-T !! :x

Vincent Tan is the laughing stock of british football, not Cardiff City.

I disagree. Not you personally Murphy (you've been quite outspoken on the subject as I recall), but as a collective fan base you've shown apathy at best, and at worst a total disregard for your clubs traditions, by standing idly by and allowing the megalomaniac to tear your club apart. I genuinely don't think it could have happened at any other club than Cardiff City.
