Providing Manga is fit again and who I highly rate as our best player, do you drop the ever improving Morrison for Rotherham or stick with the partnership that is growing with Turner and a partnership that will be the bedrock when manga is away? Opinions please

I can't see how he can be dropped with the defence looking a lot more cohesive and with us having conceded so few goals, since Turner came in to partner him!

I agree and a firm believer that if your playing well you keep the shirt and don't change a wining side. Sometimes exceptions are made and possibly this is one. I would keep turner and Morrison in.

Difficult one.
We are going to lose Manga soon to this Africans cup. Should we carry on developing the Morrisonn/Turner partnership or play Manga giving Morrison or Turner a rest.

Yes.

No, but only because of the African nations cup

Great question.........
He is one of the best players, but the most important part of any central defence is the partnership, it's not the best two, it's the best partnership. Turner and Morrison seems to be working better than Manga and Morrison, and can Managa and Turner play together ???
I would stick with Morrison and Turner for now as it's working and doesn't seem fair to drop either, but ahard decision for Slade to make ???

From what I've seen of Manga, he's one of, If not the best defenders in the league. Id play Manga and Turner myself.

I feel Slade has already made his mind up going on that article about Manga could lose his place.

Turner and Manga for me. Two of the best CB in the division.

Without a doubt, Manga comes straight in for me.

The problem we have when Manga plays, is that when he comes up against a really big centre forward like what happened at Blackpool against Ishmael Miller and when he came up against Craig Davies at Bolton, he can be dominated!
Don't get me wrong, Manga stuck admirably to the task, but he came off second best against both of these players overall"
I believe the management may have made a mistake in not switching Morrison with Manga during these games and should have tasked Morrison to mark the centre forward(s), allowing Manga to drop off, where he is so much better at controlling matters and making his interceptions!
As Morrison & Turner are such big lumps, when they play together, theoretically we wouldn't have had the same problem, as they should have done much better at neutralizing their effectiveness as big players, much the same as they did against Troy Deeney on Saturday!

What a top question which will have many replies. For me Manga and Turner are way ahead. However, we will lose Manga and a centre back partnership is absolutely vital. My concern is Morrison lacks pace, switches off and can be bullied.
How about keeping the 3 and going 352. Highly improbable with Slade but this will accommodate Daelhi.

Not at the moment Morrison and Turner look solid .
Mon Dec 01, 2014 8:43 am
Manga and Morrison for me with Brayford right back and Fabio left.
Mon Dec 01, 2014 9:26 am
Like most others, I believe Manga & Turner are potentially our best pairing but I would not change a winning team right now.
What message does that send out? - play well, give everything you've got & then we'll drop you!
Mon Dec 01, 2014 10:04 am
No I think his potential is huge.
He is 23 and at times looks like a vet. He'll be a beast by 26.
Mon Dec 01, 2014 10:14 am
No - stick with the winning team - something OGS had a mental block about.
Mon Dec 01, 2014 10:26 am
gotta stick with the team i suppose, shame though, as i think Manga and turner is our best partnership

I agree, but it's hard to drop players when they've done well, so I suspect that Manga will have to wait for his chance, the same as he may well have to do, when he returns from Africa in February!!
Mon Dec 01, 2014 2:12 pm
Yes. Manga gives you something extra because he is good on the ball. He isn't just hoofing the ball for it to come straight back and put more pressure on the team which was evident against Watford. Midfield can sit higher. Turner and Morrison is a very one dimensional partnership.

Anybody think Manga could do the dirty work Gunnerson does in the middle of the park if Gunner misses a game or 2 with this back injury ? Adeyemi more than likely the choice there but i believed he was signed for more of his forward work or box to box.
I allways thought Juan Cala was good on the ball and play a defensive midfield position. Obviously hes off in January so out of contention

play defenders in defense.
dont get this whole playing in the middle stuff. Luiz only does it because hes woeful at the back and cant be trusted

My point being we might have to as no strong cover for Gunner is there ?

Some good replies guys and very mixed opinions on this one. I think manga is immense and yes he does play it out, but I think you have to stick with a winning formula. Argument for both on this one and Morrison is growing on me. I think he will keep them in. A good problem for a change.

Tbh I'm not much of a Morrison fan.
Maybe away days like Watford when it's backs against the wall he is better.
I've only see home games and he tends to struggle with anything in behind. His movement and positioning not the best.
