In today's Sun this writer claims that Marshall needs a hernia operation, no date has been decided but it could mean Marshall missing a large part of the season.
Just when we were feeling positive

If it's true then surely the bbc and sky and others would be reporting it as well.

The Sun now guys, THE SUN
Sun Nov 30, 2014 6:19 pm
Oh feck that would be really bad news, he's ten points a season at least .......
Sun Nov 30, 2014 6:22 pm
Hopefully it's the usual bullshit from that scumbag paper.
Wouldn't be surprised if we made him have it at the end of the season, if true. Scotland wouldn't be too happy but let's remember who pays his wages and who he's the captain of.

Be a big loss yes but Moore is a very good goalkeeper more than ample back up.

What's more of a concern to me is Mingolet's crap season for the Gobshites. Just hope they dont come sniffing in Jan.

Perhaps its a ploy to stop teams coming in for him in January

what about Lewis does he have a recall clause from Blackpool

Told David Marshall groin problem is a niggle. Nothing more. Reports go too far - if he needs it sorted that could wait until next May

I think he will play til January and then get a keeper on loan ,
Sun Nov 30, 2014 9:08 pm
Terry Phillips seems to suggest that it's not as bad as this report suggests.

Cardiff City insist David Marshall NOT facing operation amid reports captain could face lengthy lay-off
Cardiff City have moved to allay fears captain and goalkeeper David Marshall is in need of a hernia operation
Cardiff City insist goalkeeper David Marshall will be at the forefront of their promotion push this season despite reports he is facing surgery.
It has been reported Marshall is in need of a hernia operation but manager Russell Slade and his medical team insist there are no major injury concerns around the Scot.
A club spokesman said: “There is a niggle in his groin and that is being monitored, but it is of no great concern at this time.
“There is no suggestion it is a hernia problem.”
It has been suggested Marshall ‘could miss a huge chunk of Cardiff’s season’, but that seems to be way off target.
If the niggle does need treatment it is likely that will wait until the end of this season.
Skipper Marshall has made 218 first team appearances for the Bluebirds since signing from Norwich in 2009 and has played in every one of Cardiff’s Championship matches this season.
“David is an outstanding goalkeeper,” said Slade. “There is no doubt about that.
“He showed true quality against Watford. The game had barely started and he made two excellent saves.
“Against Reading he would have been disappointed with the goal they scored. It was a bit of a soft goal.
“But you would rather him make the mistake, or slight error in a game when you are 2-0 up.
“Making the saves in a game which is tight, like our match at Watford, when it is 0-0, really shows the quality goalkeeper he is.”
