Well there's a surprise...

I've said for many weeks how Le Fondre is getting unnecessary stick. The poor bugger runs himself into the ground for the team and has had to carry the lazy Macheda up front with him. I've always said if Le Fondre had Kenwyne Jones up front with him instead of Macheda, he would start scoring. Kenwyne Jones took a hit from the Watford keeper for our goal, a hit Macheda would never have taken! Hopefully now Le Fondre has a good target man to feed off, he will start scoring goals for us.

Ross you saying Macheda would have missed that?

Macheda would have never won the header to set up Le Fondre goal yesterday. Macheda would have seen the keeper coming out and ducked out of the challenge, just like the Millwall goal when Macheda turned his back on Danny Shittu running in. Macheda doesn't contribute anything to the team imo and he certainly didn't create any opportunities for Le Fondre. Kenwyne Jones had an assist for Le Fondre yesterday and I think that will be the first of many assists Kenwyne will create for Le Fondre. I hope Slade keeps this strike partnership as I think we will see Le Fondre scoring lots of goals with Kenwyne up front with him instead of the lazy Macheda.

Absolutely agree with you about Macheda.

Still not completely convinced by Le Fondre. Seems to be one on one with the keeper in most games but so far has not scored from any of them.

Now you could argue that he is doing extremely well to get himself in a position wher he is one on one with the goalie every game and I would agree. However, as a striker with his record I would have hoped he would be more clinical in front of goal.

Works very hard but as a striker he will always be judged on hpw many goals he scores.

Spot on. Agree with everything said. I cannot see how a manager in their right mind would pick Macheda ahead of Jones. Le Gobdre has been crying out for someone alongside to provide the service. Jones is a handful who wins everything in the air. You are lucky to see Mavheda jump an inch off the ground. He wins nothing in the air, he cannot hold the ball up, he has a terrible touch and he does not run off the ball.
