' DITCH THE NEGATIVITY TONIGHT '

If there is one way to lift any negativity among City fans then an away win is the way to go.

Being totally honest I didn't expect anything from our visit to Vicarage Road and would have taken a point beforehand. There was grit and determination in the team today and credit to Russell Slade, he made a subtle change to the line up, swapping Jones for Macheda.

Jones had a huge part to play in our goal today and as much credit I can give to the big Trinidian, the same credit must go to Slade for making the change.

I forgot what an away win felt like and after waiting for so long for one to come, I admit to being very nervous in the last 20mins plus injury time.

Early on in the game I thought we were getting done down their left wing, too many crosses were coming in from Connolly's side and I thought Slade had made a mistake in choosing him over Brayford at right back. But midway through the first half, Connolly got a last ditch block on a shot that would surely have got Watford an equaliser.

Our centre halves were immense today and restricted Watford to shooting from outside the box especially the longer the game went on.

Looking at the table this evening clearly shows how well Russell Slade has done since taking over, we can all moan about performances but like I said last week it is all about results and Slade is turning things around. Two clean sheets in his last two away games, getting four points in return.

We got Rotherham home next and I think we are all expecting a win at home, if that happens we will be in a great position going into the Bournemouth game.

I have enjoyed our day and to get a win I our travels makes it all the worthwhile, City fans were in superb voice today and supported the team to the end, that's the type of support that is the City support I know and love.

Listened to it on CCW Carl. Not the same as big there.

To me Brayford and Turner were the outstanding players although if Connolly had not got substituted he was on his way to being MOTM. Fabio came on for Connolly and things were not looking good. Fabio swapped for Brayford and things sounded comfortable. Although it sounded all Watford they never threaten even with the like of Vydra and Deeney. First game this season Watford had failed to score at home. :ayatollah:

A good result and performance. Now for me lets see if we can be consistant.

Carl listened to the game on the radio and it sounded like we had to work really hard to keep a clean sheet? Watford wasted many chances so do you think this win will set us up for the rest of the season? Russell Slade has done a great job in getting the players match fit let's hope all his and the coaching teams hard work pays off and we become a harder team to beat. :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

I must admit after looking at the table after the game, we are 6 points off the top, a team that lets be honest haven't been playing well, even some the games we hae won at home haven't been convincing, however after this great result Promation is there for taking, 2 wins on the trot, make 3 against Rotherhan and things are starting to look good again, and hopefully our
home supported were as you say ditch the negativity and start making some noise again :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

We worked tirelessly to get the win, rode our luck on a few times but that said City had some decent openings also to extend their lead.

That was a massive result result yesterday and on the back of the Reading win and Birmingham draw with a clean sheet to boot, it has set us up well to kick on and we got a good set of fixtures coming up to really put us in the mix.
