Celtic - why??

Tue Jun 01, 2010 9:26 am

would Joe want to even think of going to the footballing irrelevance that is Glasgow and Scotland?? - Celtic are a joke club in a joke league with joke fans. What a MASSIVE step down that will be if he goes there from our great club with a wonderful future on the horizon (that he could play a huge part in still) to little Celtic and all that bigotry nonsense and playing in that awful pub league..........bad bad move if it comes off and the wrong move. :old:

Yeh, the sort of 'joke' club who have won the European Cup, have qualified for the Champions League, have one of the biggest fan bases in the world, attract players from all over the world...

Yeh, massive joke!

European Cup - 1967. 43 years ago.
Qualified for CL - gosh, really? In the SPL, WHAT an achievement.
Biggest fan bases in the world - "world"? Really?
Players from all around the world - hmm, mostly Prem / Championship ex-players at the moment.

Face facts, Scottish football is a joke... Celtic, Rangers in the SPL is akin to us, Jacks being in the WPL.. two horse race. But hey, we'd get CL football too...

If Ledley believed his interests were best suited by a few CL, Europa games a season whilst spending the domestic season playing shite teams the majority of the time... he's not looking after his career. Would develop as a player far better playing in the Prem against far better teams.

Id like to think, in 12 months time, Glenn Loovens (and Ledley if he goes) will be somewhat envious when we are playing in the Premiership.

For the sake of a year surely it would be worth waiting for.

The argument against will always be "...12 mths has gone should I wait another year". But this year really is different. We have a new guy in charge and talk of some seriously good players coming to the club - and a serious opportunity of finishing in the top 2.

Personally, if loyalty does lie with your hometown club, I would like to think that it is worth the wait.

In respect to Bellamy - credit to him.

Irrespective as to whether he comes or not. He has come out and said he is prepared to take a massive pay cut to play for his home town club.
