Calling Ninian Park a dump.

How disrespectful. That's something I would expect from a Jack.

Compared to CCS it was a dump, how you could think otherwise ?

Really?

Well the Old Lady twice held over 50,000 in my lifetime, entertained the greatest club ever Real Madrid, hosted the greatest club in British football history and that being the Leeds United team of the early 70s and finally is the most famous Welsh football ground that our country will ever know.

Oh yes through the years her appearance has struggled. In her time she stood her own but life tends to draw it out of you. My mother had the looks in her youth but bring me up as well as my brother took its toll. In the end it showed for her like it showed for all old people and it will for those of us who will be lucky to have an old age. However it never crossed my mind to call my old mother a "hage". In fact it never entered my mine.

I see through the appearance of Ninian Park like I saw through the looks of my mother before she died. I see the heart of the Old Lady and could never ever address her as a dump.

I would go back in a heartbeat. Standing on the Bob bank moving with a mass of humanity. Being split up from your mates and ending up the other end of the ground.
Brilliant days.

Not so much when it was pissing down perhaps!

Ccs on its day has been awesome ,Chopra s goal against Swansea in the last minute was the loudest I've ever witnessed apart from youngsters goal against Leeds ,a ground is what the fans make it ,np was a dump but it was our dump sadly times move on

Re: Calling Ninian Park a dump.

Sat Nov 29, 2014 10:30 am

Jeez! I'd rather heard it called a "Dump" than the "Old Lady" How pathetic does that sound?
It was a great old ground that suffered from lack of maintenance and investment and had served its purpose. The facilities at the CCS are now so much better than what we had and the atmosphere can be every bit as good as witnessed on a few occasions.

Re: Calling Ninian Park a dump.

I don't like NP refered to as the "Old Lady" either. It was never called that when we was there. I miss Ninian Park like mad but I can't and don't have any feelings for the CCS. I feel with the re brand I could of handled the new ground but now I associate the CCS with Vinny Twats Club not mine. My club died when Vinny changed it to his franchise FC. As for the new ground it so far is creating its own history but it's a history I don't want to get involved in anymore.

Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young
In a world of magnets and miracles
Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary
The ringing of the division bell had begun

Along the Long Road and on down the Causeway
Do they still meet there by the Cut

There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps
Running before time took our dreams away
Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground
To a life consumed by slow decay

The grass was greener
The light was brighter
With friends surrounded
The nights of wonder

Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us
To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side
Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again
Dragged by the force of some inner tide

At a higher altitude with flag unfurled
We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world

Encumbered forever by desire and ambition
There's a hunger still unsatisfied
Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon
Though down this road we've been so many times

The grass was greener
The light was brighter
The taste was sweeter
The nights of wonder

With friends surrounded
The dawn mist glowing
The water flowing
The endless river

Forever and ever

All this reminiscing made me think of a pink floyd song for you

The grass was not greener in fact in the seventies by winter the pitch was a mud bath.

I doubt that the lights were brighter especially now we have all the couloured advertising displays.

Friends as football fans come and go depending on their loyalty or circumstances.

Not sure what tasted sweeter, it certainly wasn't the tobacco smoke, the hot dogs or the Bovril.

There were some Wondrous nights, wondering whether you get up Sloper Road safely!

We never played at Dawn!

The Water Flowing was normally down the back of you next from a hole in the roof or from the front of the Grangend guttering.

The Endless River was normally spilling out of the urinals!

But good memories all the same. Why let the truth get in the way of a good story or even a good Pink Floyd song!

Give me ninian park and the real fans that the club attracted back then at Ninian.

Not these annoying f'ing newbies that have been here 2 mins, that critise us, our heritage and our pride in our heritage and history as a club, when they have no idea whatsoever. Absolute tossers the lot of them - and from my experience, these are usually the same daft twats that somehow find a way to jump to tans defence, and walk around red kit - not a Cardiff city kit and never ever will be. We need shot of tan AND these cretins as soon as possible. We were a stronger and better club without them.

Bring back Cardiff City.

Absolutely has a lot to do with the post. Since tan \ CCS there is a large number that have turned up with exactly the same thoughts and concern for our clubs heritage as tan does - f**k all. Quite happy to walk around a posh new stadium, with a man utd style kit on and spout disrespectful bullshit to long standing die hards of this club, trying to undermine us, our club and our history. Ninian park is a much bigger part of our club than the CCS is and will likely ever be. Its a bigger part than Vincent tan, the plastic fans that have turned up in past few years that pretend to be 'life long' and the shite red jersey will ever ever be. Anyone critising that is no supporter of this club.

Yes, the stadium was old and run down, but go and find fans that were around in those days and I'm sure at least 95% will say they would take NP over the CCS.

Is it a coincidence that the chaos we are in as a club now has happened
Since the move of stadium and since the dictator and his the new "supporters" have turned up? I don't think so. We have been a mess before but never like this.

Real Cardiff city supporters will remember NP as our home. The home of the bluebirds. The club we grew up watching. Through thick, thin and even thinner. Rough times, but it was us, our bluebrids, our real identity and our stadium. All we have left now, is the name Cardiff city FC and let's be honest if the tw*t had the choice we would lose the name also, and we would be watching Kuala Lumpur dragons, or Berjaya United FC.

We survive right now in name only and the point I'm trying to get to was, long standing fans will always remember NP in fonder terms than they will the CCs due to the circus we have become since moving here and if someone has called ninian a dump they are probably a red retard. That was my point.

Ninian park was, is and always will be the true home of the bluebirds, to the die hard bluebirds. Anyone that finds that tough to understand is NOT a true bluebird.
