Cala

"I'm back to the Academy? hahahaha incredible, respect please pic.twitter.com/pdKPbnIElA" Juan Cala's plea on Twitter.

It is difficult to believe that in football players are still subject to the sort of management we used to see in schools. Not clever enough? Go and sit in another class rather than deal with the issue.

Sending an out of favour player to train with the juniors is just such archaic management regardless of the cause and reflects badly on the management skill sets of those responsible.

Imagine trying this in real life.

We have a very amature set up sadly from top to bottom.

Im not sure why we signed Morrison, for me Cala if he had been kept match fit could have easily done a good job at this level.

He has done absolutely nothing apart from that red card, to warrant being out of the squad.

Danny Gabbidon was getting on the bench ahead of him.

I made a thread about it that Slade prefers home grown players.

perhaps his attitude is not the thing we need around the first team squad.

January cant come soon enough for me.

Is Depressed Blue referring to the red card he received at Sunderland after his almighty cock-up that just about sealed our fate ? Cala is as bad a defender as Macheda is a striker. And that's saying something.

Yeah because Cala single-handedly got us relegated!.. He got done by the best striker in the premier league last year and that's enough for our fans to consign him to the "shit list".. From what iv seen he is more than capable of doing a job for us and in my opinion out of a squad of 30+ players only 3 or 4 would be definite starters.. But forget that blame Cala.. after all he got us relegated!

I am not saying that Cala single handedly got us relegated. The same as I don't think you're including him in the 3 or 4 definite starters. At least I hope you are not. I was just reminding people like you who seem to have forgotten his blunder.

It would not surprise me if Tan has told Slade/Ole not to play Cala because of that.

I'd almost forgotten that we still had Juan Cala at the club given how little involvement he's managed since our Premier League relegation.

Cala now looks certain to leave Cardiff in January, being forced to train with the academy has brought a furious Twitter reaction from the Spaniard who has featured just once for us in the Championship this season.

'I just want the situation to be sorted out and to play here on [sic] in another club ASAP!! Thank you for support.'

With Ben Turner, Bruno Ecuele Manga and Sean Morrison all ahead of the 24 year old, and training with the first team, if it wasn't pretty clear that his future was away from the Cardiff City Stadium before the outburst I think it's clear to say that it is following these publicly claimed frustrations.

The club have confirmed that he has been told to train with the academy side but haven't made any further comment.

Russell Slade inherited a top heavy squad, we can add Cala to the list of players that he doesn't fancy that OGS brought in, and he did bring in quite a few!
