Is Slade one of those British managers that

Only pick British players?.

01 Marshall
16 Connolly
36 Morrison
06 Turner
02 Brayford
19 Pilkington
17 Gunnarsson
07 Whittingham
11 Noone
10 Le Fondre
14 Macheda

2 Foreign players. Well Pilkington is ROI but you get what I mean. Some managers think the best way to win the lower leagues is play British players.

The foreign players in the squad will be the first to go come January. Even if they are better than the British ones. I really think that is what is going to happen and maybe it is a good thing. Guerra, Burgestaller (who was our best player at the start of the season?!), maybe Daelhi, Calas, Kim Bo, Eikrem are all goners.

I can see us watching a lot of quite boring 442 football under Slade. A lot of it. I'd rather that than the clueless long ball circus under Ole though.

I also think Declan will be sold. Which is a massive shame. Connelly is not a very good player. Why not play Brayford RB and Declan LB v Reading?.

I was thinking the same yesterday.

you arent asking the right questions. Which non british players would you have in the side then? Manga is obviously first choice, so it should have been 3 v Reading, but was rested due to internationals. Then you have the same for Kenwyn, but even if he was getting a look in it would be for Macheda so still 3.

Then you have Fabio, who despite some good performances was woeful v Bolton. Aside from that, im not sure what else you want? Eikram, Guerra and Burgstaller werent getting a look in under Ole either, same with Velikonja, kim and cala. not sure what we have seen from any of the players that makes me think they are better than what we have.

You could make a case for Fabio (though i wouldnt) and perhaps Daehli in for Pilkington (though i'd rather Ravel).

Its not a foreign thing at all

I don't think so.

His first few matches, he picked Fabio. I think the reason he has him on the bench now is because he sees him as a winger, but can't justify dropping Noone or Pilkington yet.

Manga has been one of the first names on the team sheet.

Kenwyne Jones will probably be a regular starter when he returns.

Daehli hasn't been in the team because he doesn't suit the style of play that Slade would prefer to play, the same reason Ravel doesn't start - and he's British.

Eikrem, Kim, Cala, Burgstaller etc are just not good enough. As for Guerra, he clearly isn't doing enough in training. Do I think he should get a chance? Yes. But Ole, the caretaker managers and now Slade have barely given him a sniff. There must be a reason. Scott Young? Perhaps.

But I don't think Slade is leaving them out because they're foreign.

Fabio and John are both wing-backs. If we continue with 4-4-2 then Slade must buy a left back in January. Away from home we could play three centrebacks and Brayford and Fabio wide, but I can't see him trying that.

Manga's started nearly every game under him.
