Wasted Talent

Sat Nov 22, 2014 11:42 am

A good 3 points last night but a shocking performance.

I know it's early days but I think RS and Young are taking us backwards. They have this under performing favourites e.g Macheda and instead are isolating real talent.

Our bench last night would walk into any other team in the Division. The best players at the club were on the bench! Yes, accepted that Manga, Daehli & Jones have been on international duty but there was no way that they were going to start anyway.

On the bench we had Manga, Daehli, Jones, Ravel Morrison, Fabio & Adeyemi! A quality bench. It is frightening that RS is not using quality.

3pts :thumbright:

But I agree, the bench for me was stronger than the team.

I am not convinced so far by Slade/Young & Gabbidon.

Got to agree with that. Apart from Adeyemi and Moore, the replacements should have been in the team.

I was across the road having a bite to eat when I saw the team and the bench. To be honest from that point on I didn't even fancy crossing the road to watch the match. I travel a long way to both home and away games and expect a tiny bit of entertainment (points or not). At the moment we are getting somewhar lucky points at home because we haven't looked that great (first half against Leeds, Second half against Forest and the whole game last night). Put that with the worst 4 away performances I've seen for ages and its not good for me.

Cap that with our best players on the bench and we are going to lose fans on mass. Yes us regulars will always attend but people are moaning at the atmosphere last night and for me that's because we aint being given much to shout about.

It's a disgrace tbh. The management team are fecking clueless.

Totally agree.
Come the end of January we will have gone back many years.

While Ole struggled as manager I felt his replacement had a great opportunity to make the most of a talented bug squad but instead we went for Slade who ignores most of them and won't play anyone who has any kind of real talent.

While I agree with your post, they cannot be seen as taking us backwards with four wins on the trot at home and halting the slide towards relagation.

People should watch game instead of wearing blindfold! Reading only looked liked scoring when daehli came on with Fabio, daehli cannot defend so unless we drop whitts there is no way both can play in same team unless play 451… but I suppose losing playing attacking football is better than winning playing drab football? :laughing5:

Did you watch the game? Noone lost the ball and reading almost scored at one point.
Readings goal .
Mistake was made in the middle then passed out wide. Marshall let it slip between his legs. Unfair to pin that on Fabio or daehli.
For your info daehli and noones defensive stats are more or less the same.
Noone has more pace, he was lively, but daehlis passing as well as vision is vastly superior.
He would not have shot aimlessly when there is another player in a better position.
I like them both It depends what you are looking for in a player.

No actually away for wkend! Didn't say goal was their fault! And I was making an observation said by Steve McFail that city was being attacked down left and both daehli & Fabio were not defending together! Stats can be used anyway you like to manipulate what you want?
Like I said what do you want attacking football and lose or defensive football and win? Personally don't think can have whitts & daehli in same side as weakens our defensive capabilities to much! :o

Doesn't sound like you've watched any of this seasons games or know anything about Matts and Fabios best positions. They both normally play on the left, one of them for his country.

Our man Slade brought them both on and put them on the right.
