As we are well aware, results have not been what we have expected and I read on the messageboard Thursday evening that in the past 10 years, on average, teams must have amassed 34 points after 23 games to achieve a play-off position, let alone automatic promotion.
That means City must earn 12 points before they face Watford at Cardiff City Stadium on 28 December to get to the 34-point mark at the halfway point of the season.
