' Macheda '

He was very poor indeed tonight. We have a real problem now because Le Fondre works really hard but can't score at present and Maynard is simply and sadly not the player he was. Jones need to play up front with Le Fondre if we are to play 442. Oh how I long for the energy of Campbell! Keep the faith - Wiits and Gunner will get stronger and stronger and Noone is getting better. Manga in for Morrisson and we look strong.

Why would you change a back 4 that hasn't conceded? Macheda was wrongly criticised to be honest, he did a lot of running. Noone looks like he's lost his pace. Whitts and Gunnar are fine for playing at home but we need a 3rd CM in a similar mold to Gunnar. Mason will be back in January, wouldn't mind seeing him up top with Jones.

We did concede!

he's been so poor, its such a joke that he keeps his place in the starting line up.

Re: ' Macheda '

I know it's not going to happen but I would like to se Guerra in instead of Macheda who was very poor tonight :old:

Re: ' Macheda '

If guerra can't get in the squad after last night's woeful performance by some individuals then it's clear he's going in January. Like a lot of fans I was impressed by his cameo against Huddersfield and feel he could have offered a lot more to this team if given the opportunity.

Re: ' Macheda '

Guerra should defo be given a start

Re: ' Macheda '

Based of his last few performances Macheda shouldn't be any where near our starting 11

Can't believe he didn't play Jones last night

Macheda is very poor every game. It is an absolute farce how he is in the team.

A striker is there to score goals but also assist in other areas. Yes, he has scored a few goals but 2 of the 3 were Tap ins.

Other than that he contributes nothing. He cannot win anything in the air, he does not run off the ball and he can't hold the ball up. He is certainly one of the worst strikers I have seen at the club for a long long time.

Looks like Macheda is Slades's blue eyed boy who can do no wrong. I think neither of our stike force are up to it. How many more games are they going to get before Slade realises that that Guerra could be the missing link.

I don't understand the love in for LeFondre, he is shocking. Last night he touch the ball a total of 24 times, that is the same amount as Daehli did... Macheda touched the ball more and looked awful, but all this shit about LeFondre putting a shift in is absolute bollocks, the stats tell you that. He needs to go, Macheda needs to go and for the love of God get effing Pilkington out of the team, he is shocking!

I think ALF will come good once he gets a tidy strike partner. He makes great runs and works his socks off. Guerra or Jones with ALF or Dhaeli or Morrison just off him.

Just get Macheda out

Re: ' Macheda '

Its a real problem.

I hope Young hasn't totally influenced selection.

If Guerra wants it he,ll be putting it in at training

Re: ' Macheda '

The strikers will struggle more and more as the season goes on, the flair players are being forced out.

I expected macheda and let fondre to be impact players at the start of the season.

I don't know. The way I see it slade is very stubborn. He's decided that le fondre and macheda is a partnership and will play them no matter what. It's the same with midfielders bar injury he won't change them. For soom reason he fiddles a lot with the defence. Despite the fact that the defenders have probably been or best and most consistent performers this season. Poor fabio gets drooped and macheda, Le fondre, pilkington, noone plays no matter what they do.

Re: ' Macheda '

The management team certainly have their favourites and there are players they do not intend on giving a chance to prove themselves at league level. Slade talks of partnerships. Macheda and Le Fondre do not make a good partnership. Le Fondre did not have have one attempt on target last night and Macheda was poor again last night. Neither look like scoring at the moment.
C'mon Slade give Javi Guerra a run of games, or is Scott Young having too much influence over the team selection?

He was and still is a fans favourite, but I just don't get how Scott Young was made Slade's assistant ? How can disastrous spells at AFC Porth and Port Talbot qualify him for the position ? ?
His influence on first team matters is massive as Slade's number 2 and it's not all beneficial for us. Why do we always drop back when winning comfortably at HOME ? Who is responsible for these tactics ? Anyone with half a brain cell can tell you what will happen next when you employ these tactics ! We needlessly invite the opposition to attack us, they score once (or twice), we then spend the last ten minutes or more desperately, hanging on, sometimes throwing 2 points away, other times 3.

Re: ' Macheda '

It's a tricky situation. It's hard to drop a striker who's playing very well like Le Fondre but doesn't score goals, and it's hard to drop a striker who does score goals but isn't playing well like Macheda.

We won yesterday because of an own goal and a penalty against a side with 10 men, which says it all.

Tough this one, have backed macheda not because I like him as a player but because I think he will get goals. Ten men means nothing these days, west brom were down to ten after 29 mins and Chelsea at home didn't add to the goals! Chelsea who are running away with it!

We needlessly invite the opposition to attack us, they score once (or twice), we then spend the last ten minutes or more desperately, hanging on, sometimes throwing 2 points away, other times 3 or like in the last two home matches, fortunately keeping all 3. I thought that this was a tactic of the past after Slade's first two home games, but the last two at home, despite claiming the full six points, have been unnecessary desperately hanging on affairs. I'm not suggesting that Scott Young is directly responsible for these tactics, I'm just thinking that it's time we had a change to a newer, more positive way of playing and more importantly, for the full 90mins.
It's not as if we don't have the players is it ? As for away matches, we are just so negative at the moment, I can't see any change in our fortunes.

And you serious about not bringing manga back in? He's our best centre back by a mile.

Macheda just doesn't do enough, hold up play is rubbish and gives the ball away with flicks

I am not a betting man (fortunately for my wallet!)

If I were, however, I would be willing to bet a fairly large sum of money that Macheda will start the game on Saturday.

Feel free to remind me of this should Slade get round to dropping him.

Re: ' Macheda '

Macheda is not only lazy but he's got no football brain he keeps making the same runs as ALF and drags the defenders to him instead of taking them away from him......He,s useless
