Sad really, as he proved to us (and an England manager) that he had obvious talent, but maybe his ego and the lure of the bright lights of London had a chronically detrimental effect

Try and find a champion with a bad attitude and lifestyle - you wont if you do it certainly wont last long.

Loved watching him for us,great player and he did spend a lot of time on his ass but he did take a fair bit of knocks in the process.
He used to get a lot of stick off some fans for going down to easy but lest not forget he won a lot of free kicks which quite a few ended up as goals.
But such a shame his talent was wasted and flittered away.

The worst thing that happened to Bothroyd was getting that England cap. It went to his head and his play went to the dogs.

What a waste of a career. When he was with us he was unbelievable. He seemed to have all the talent to be a top premier league striker but as we all know, had an appalling attitude. That England cap killed him.
