No not me (staff)

Port Talbot Head Coach leaves the GenQuip

Jarred Harvey has moved onto Cardiff City leaving his position at Port Talbot Town.

Following the offer of a full time job with the Cardiff City Academy, Jarred Harvey, our Head Coach and his coaching staff, have decided to leave the club. The Board are disappointed because we didn’t want to lose them but at the same time are delighted for Jarred to have such an opportunity and wish him every success in his new post.

We would like to place on record our appreciation for all hard the work that Jarred and his coaching team have done this season which has seen considerable progress on the field in both results and in our playing style. His last game in charge, the very narrow Word Cup semi-final away to TNS on Tuesday clearly shows that we have a squad capable of progressing and achieving great things that will be an attractive proposition for the next management team.

The WPL have been kept fully informed and a caretaker management team has been appointed to take charge of Sunday’s game against Carmarthen Town at the GenQuip Stadium, Kick off 1.00pm. The process of finding the best manager to take the club forward has already begun. Once a decision has been made full details will be released but until then there will be no further comment.

Glad to see we're scouring all the top European clubs for top quality backroom staff.

He may be an excellent person to bring in, I'm sure city will judge him on his performance and rightly so but it does seem we are doing it all on the cheap.

f**k this cost saving is ridiculous.. Wrongly going about doing this... Getting things on the cheap will backfire.. You get what u pay for... Better homework and research into recruitment is needed in my opinion... Not just oh he's cheap lets get him!

Look right the way to the top of our coaching staff (i.e. 1st team) and there's not a lot of experience. There's one guy, no names, who's barely kicked a ball in anger at any level in senior football but talks the talks and is a product of the FAW trust. Too many of those gobshites, with Sports Science degrees and **** all real experience working within the professional game in Wales. Trust me on this, I've coached with many of them.

So you HAVE to be a former player with Premier League experience to become a top coach/manager, fella?? :?

Hmmmm, let's look at the conflicting managerial ventures of Messrs. Solskjaer and Murinho, shall we?? :?

A European Cup, World Club Championship, several Premier League Championships, FA Cups, League Cups and more versus Sir Bobby Robson's interpreter from Portugal!

Pretty obvious which one SHOULD have reached the higher echelons of management according to YOUR philosophy, isn't it?? ;)

They all have to start somewhere and (in this particular case) someone has obviously recommended Jarred and somebody will have thought him good enough to employ. On that score, I wish him well in his new post

Wez, I don't think the OP was 'bashing' the club; more 'informing' us, as he (Carl) usually does!

Re: ' CITY APPOINT NEW STAFF '

Good luck to him! I'm assuming he's a local lad and as long as he has the burning passion and desire to achieve, his enthusiasm will rub off on the academy players. Would rather train for an enthusiastic coach with a bright future and lots to prove than a big name who has previously achieved a lot but as a result, doesn't have the same enthusiasm to become a good coach.

No pal and well you know it. I wasn't knocking this guy. I wish him all the best. Great to see someone from grass roots getting a chance. There are plenty of these at our Academy. I'm referring to the brown nosers who have been coughed out by the FAW some with f**k all experience but know how to give a good power point presentation and play a mean game of buzzword bingo. As for Mourinho he wasn't exactly pitched in at top level was he. Took a long time to work his way up, unlike one or two of our current coaching staff. Get my drift now??

We're the biggest club in Wales (100% FACT! ;) )and (on the grand scale of things) we are pretty big club by British standards; bigger in REAL terms than several current Premier teams (no names, no pack drill ;) )

Carl implied he was taking all his staff here! But in the statement by club it clearly states city are looking for top class manager (academy) so this is only filling in places to fulfill city's academy status with the authorities as also stated in statement! Becsuse we don't have anyone there at moment.
