It's been a while since I've posted here really. We seem to be getting a little argumentative (as opposed to healthy debate) and although we have had bits of news coming through, ultimately, the circus show that is our football club, has kept quiet.

So we're, what? 6 games into Slade's reign? And I for one was a little sceptical at first. With many other people, I didn't know whether RS could deliver our aspirations with Tan at the helm, and such a large squad. It was a whole new kettle of fish for him. Bigger names, huge wages, higher standard of football ect. ect.
But let's look at where we were under Ole.
Bottom half of the league, poor form, players played out of position (or even not at all) losing a key squad member and leader in Hudson, lack of belief, and poor football on display. We can truely thank Ole for a few things he did here;
Bringing in Daehli, Manga, Le Fondre (I believe he has a LOT to offer us) and Fabio. He did his best, but it unfortuntely wasn't good enough.
Now we have a 100% home record under RS, much improved performances away from home, a core team who are playing together regularly, a much more "British" approach to the management side of things, and some great counter attacking football.

So surely all these positive signs point to the fact that we are headed in the right direction? In my opinion, any other view is crazy. The man is at the infancy of his cardiff city career, and any doubters need to be patient.

Tan The Ring Leader will no doubt take credit for the appointment of RS, and to be honest - who could blame him? Basic business - you have an under performing colleague/manager - you replace them and results improve. On the balance sheet, that is what counts.

The Matts Daehli saga concerns me slightly. I believe him to be a very talented player, who really has a big future in the game, and we need to take advantage of that. However, if we need to change a winning formula to accommodate him, or if he isn't quite up to scratch in training, there's only one man who can make the call. If football management was as easy as doing whatever the fans want - I would be CCFC manager - because i'de cost a HELL of a lot less than MM, OGS or RS did. We might not like the decisions, but we need to stand by our manager.

What annoys me now, is this idea that some fans have, that we have some God given right to be 10 points clear at the top of a difficult league, and enjoying Real Madrid-esque football, just seeing out the year before we return to the top flight. No chance! I can see us being in this league for (AT LEAST) another season after this one. We have fickle supporters who look for someone to blame for every negative aspect of the club, whether it be a poor signing, or results on the pitch. And hearing these "fans" say "Oh im sick of this, I ain't gonna bother next week" Well f**k off then, and go support Chelsea. Then you can watch a world class manager put out world class players in the biggest league and competition in the world, until their fall from Grace, when LVG brings man Utd back to the summit of world football.

For me, I'll be voicing opinions on my hometown club, I'll show my displeasure at a loss, and I'll get angry with gutless performances from the players representing our city. But I'll still show my support for the club and RS.

We are now in transition, there is a lot of work to do, but we are heading in the right direction.

There's my rant for the day

James,
I agree with the vast majority of what you say mate and fellow Bluebird

Where I have to disagree with you is in the last few paragraphs, you suggest the supporters who voice an opinion that the club either does not feel like CCFC anymore OR have genuine concerns about Tan and / or the Colour/Badge or any other concern of a genuine CCFC supporter - that they can "F-ck off and support Chelsea" - most are True Blue CCFC supporters who have stuck with the Bluebirds through thick and thin over the many very good and very shit seasons in the past.

I myself will always be a true Blue CCFC supporter no matter what league we are playing in, it's just the fact that playing in RED with a mickey mouse badge and red seats, etc, etc because of one mans desire / whim / culture - it all feels very, very, very alien to some.

Personally it makes me sick every time I see us play in RED as our normal colour - you and many on here can try to call me and some others twats for that but we are the people brave enough to say how we feel.

So, I and many others will not be F-cking off to watch Chelsea or any other club.

As I say, you make some good points in your write up.

Blooobirds Forever !!! :bluescarf:  :old:

I believe you may have mis-read my point there fella,

I support the blue And in no way will I ever consider anyone standing up for the club's tradition to be disruptive. I meant the people in my example - the "f**k this, I won't bother because we aren't winning" crowd - who I have personally spoken too many times. I even work with a few.

In no way do I mean anyone standing up to return to blue  :bluescarf:
