I had sky internet for years, if we had particularly bad rain sometimes the internet would go off so I would call them and they would ask you a load of stupid questions one of which is to unscrew the wall fitment that the plug goes into and check the wires but in the end it was always the same problem.. The green box at the end of the street, so in the end when I called I used to just sit there and say yes to everything until they just sent someone to sort the green box.
I'm now with BT, much better service currently awaiting fibre optic :sleepy2:

Been with Sky for over a year now and I haven't had a single problem. I get 23gb on a daily basis (basic broadband) and it's never died on me. Once I came home to find my wifi switched off, turned out I had a power cut...hardly Sky's fault :)

Sky are ok. I was having terrible speeds with them. Just have a look at the sky forums. They will try to lower your max speed untill u ring and complain, bt are much better.

Guess it depends where you live? Here only BT is option as don't allow competitors fast lines! But over last couple weeks bt fibre as been installed in pemb dock so talk talk/ sky will get access to faster lines soon!!

WOW - 23gb

When I was with SKY, I was getting around 4mbs, but now I have BT fibre optic I'm getting 40+mbs, huge difference.

Same here - at least ten years with them and no problems.

I was with Sky for 8 years and only had a problem with the router which Sky replaced without any nonsense. Speed was a constant 8mbps at the router but did sometimes drop on wireless but in fairness that's not down to sky.

I changed in the summer to BT Superfast Infinity and it really is a different world with speeds a constant 75+mbps at the router but it can slow to 50 mbps when using wireless. Although Infinity is expensive I have stopped taking Sky Sports, no need because I only really watched the football, but with Infinity can watch live streams on the free websites without worrying about constant buffering. Infinity Superfast Unlimted is £26 per month but saving on the cost of Sky Sports sort of levels things out.

I wouldn't change back to Sky for all the tea in China and it's BT Infinity all the way for me.
