Sheffield United fans. Wouldn't expect anything different to be honest as Yorkshire is the number one city for rapes.
Peter Sutcliffe (Yorkshire Ripper) must have had hundreds of offspring's.

Yorkshire is a county not a city and what does a serial killers children have anything to do with rape statistics?

This is EXACTLY why Ched Evans should be given no credence whatsoever until he has exhausted the legal processes that will either clear his name or condemn him to a life of being labelled a rapist!
As it stands, the Law says he is GUILTY and Jessica Ennis is well within her rights (legally and morally) to disassociate herself from an organisation (in this case Sheffield United FC) that would potentially accept someone she personally finds abhorrent into their ranks!
The article shows that there is always some backside that will 'latch on' to such occurrences and use them for their own twisted agendas! These people are a huge part of the problem and should be taken to task themselves!
Who is currently the better 'Role Model' for the City of Sheffield?? Jessica Ennis by a country mile IMHO!

So the Rapist is going to appeal it, I take it, it will be before a jury of 12 citizens rather than three fat (taking backhanders, wink wink, nudge nudge) judges.

The case (apparently) is up for some sort of 'speedy review' as to whether it was a 'safe' conviction, but i'm not sure what happens if that concludes he was wrongfully convicted

Probably three Sheffield judges sitting in the Sheffield United boardroom.

lyndipops wrote:Jessica Ennis-Hill will ask Sheffied United to remove her name from a stand at the club’s ground if it offers convicted rapist Ched Evans a new contract.
The Sheffield-born Olympic gold medallist said in a statement: “I believe being a role model to young people is a huge honour and those in positions of influence in communities should respect the role they play in young people’s lives and set a good example. If Evans was to be re-signed by the club it would completely contradict these beliefs.”
The stand at Bramall Lane was named in her honour after the Blades fan’s heptathlon triumph at the London 2012 Games.
Evans, who is also a Wales international footballer, was released from prison last month after serving half of a five-year sentence for raping a 19-year-old woman in a hotel room in Rhyl, north Wales, in 2011.
The footballer, 25, had admitted having sex with the woman, who told a jury she had no memory of the incident.
The prosecution said the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was too drunk to consent to sex.
Evans had been accepted back into training with Sheffield following a request from the Professional Footballers’ Association.
But pressure has mounted on the club in recent weeks after more than 160,000 people signed an online petition urging it not to re-sign Evans.
Nick Clegg, the deputy prime minister and MP for Sheffield Hallam, also warned of potential ramifications.
Three patrons of the club - TV presenter Charlie Webster, businesswoman Lindsay Graham and former pop star Dave Berry - have all withdrawn their support this week.
Two shirt sponsors have threatened to pull out of deals with the club. DBL Logistics said on Wednesday that it would end its arrangement if Evans was re-signed, while John Holland Sales said it would examine its position if the player was given a new contract.

Come on what do you expect. Joking about women being raped? No wonder women who are raped are reluctant to come forward when people don't take courts verdict seriously. That's the problem with our society, people and the liberal left always side with the perpetrators and that's why they get soft punishments.
