Britton and sjelvey would be the only two players in that team today who would be first team players if everyone was fit

Only says the Swansea team on the official site , sounds like a tidy little practice match for the fringe and recently injured players , and a confidence boosting result for you

Swansea City 0-0 Cardiff City... the South Wales derby you never knew took place!
Leon Britton and Javi Guerra
Swansea City and arch-rivals Cardiff City played the South Wales derby you never knew took place... and fought out a 0-0 draw in the behind-closed-doors friendly.
The match took place at the Swans’ Landore training ground, next to their Liberty Stadium home, and featured a number of well-known players on either side.
Swans boss Garry Monk used the 90 minutes to further hone the fitness of returning midfield man Leon Britton, while Jonjo Shelvey, Marvin Emnes and Bafetimbi Gomis also played.
The Bluebirds featured Ben Turner, Sean Morrison and Fabio in defence, while Kim Bo-Kyung, Tom Adeyemi, Ravel Morrison and Javi Guerra also each figured.
The game was arranged by the two managers to give the players a focus in international week, when many of their team-mates are away on duty for their country.
It was also an opportunity to improve the fitness of fringe figures at the two clubs or, in the cases of Britton and Turner, key men who are returning from injury.
Championship Cardiff will be happy with the draw away from home against their Premier League opponents, although arguably they actually featured the slightly stronger team on paper.
However, Monk was delighted to give more game time to midfield playmaker Britton, who made his comeback from injury as a substitute in the victory over Arsenal at the weekend.
Britton played 45 minutes of the goalless draw with Cardiff and was joined by Jordi Amat and Dwight Tiendalli, two other players who are returning from injury.
Jordi Amat started the season in the Swans' defence before injury
Monk said: “It was a good chance to give a few players some minutes. It was important for the likes of Leon, Jordi and Dwight, who are coming back from injury, and also for some of the others who haven’t played as many minutes recently.
“During international breaks, it’s nice for the players who are still here to have a focus at the end of a week’s training.
“It was difficult conditions, but I thought the two sides applied themselves really well. In terms of attitude and commitment, I think the teams displayed what you would expect.”
In typical derby tradition, chances were few and far between for the two sides.
Gomis fired over following a neat through ball by Shelvey early on, while Marvin Emnes and Amat also had opportunities.
In the second half a shot by Kim was well stopped Gerhard Tremmel. As the game wore on, Cardiff goalkeeper Simon Moore had to react well to deny Gomis.
Swans: Tremmel; Shephard, Bartley, Amat, Tiendalli; Britton, Fulton, Shelvey, Barrow, Emnes; Gomis.
Cardiff: Moore; Oshilaja, S Morrison, Turner, Fábio; Kim, Adeyemi, Ralls, John; R Morrison, Guerra

To see Guerra playing in a side including players who are in contention gives me hope. Also, seems like Declan played on left of midfield/wing, if he's considered in this position for a game like this is strong enough evidence to include him in our 18 man squad as cover for a couple of positions.

Two quite strong terams, may have been a good game to watch, both defences doing a good job then....

Sjelvey?? Isn't that Shelvey??
Nothing in the archives to show his name spelled that way, but either way he's the only thing more embarrassing about Swansea Town than
YOU nowadays, waddle...
FACT!

Good to see guerra and ravel getting some game time, hopefully they can both push next now for their place in the starting 11 to give us that added quality we are missing to rip the championship apart along with daehli.
Seen young on the video but no slade? Was he even there?

the only two that would get into a first choice team free of injury would be Britton and shelvey dont know why that comment would annoy you , it's true
Shelvey is a good player , a tad unpredictable and frustrating sometimes but a very talented footballer who most teams would love to have

I really think that both Declan John and Fabio are wingers or wing-backs (with three centrebacks). They are similarly weak defensively, but excellent going forward. We need another left back in January.

I thought I saw Slade at the end of the game with Monk (on the Player clip).
Burgstaller also on in the 2nd half.
