Fraud Phishing Attempt - Be Aware

Tue Nov 11, 2014 11:54 pm

My Mrs received a phone call tonight from someone claiming to be from South Wales Police Fraud Department.

They told her, her Bank card had possibly been used fraudulently to the tune of £900 in a Cardiff Club and to ring back on 0845 0664 665, a Google check confirms this is not a Police telephone number or any other legit number.

Having rung our Bank they confirmed there was no evidence of any suspected use, in fact they confirmed the card was last used over a week ago.

So beware, any concern ring your Bank from the number on the reverse of your Bank/Credit Card.

They are also claiming to be calling from the Citizens advice. Had one this morning. Told him to do one!

I was contacted recently by my bank who told me that my card was trying to be used in the states on the same day as it was being used in Edinburgh.
Went into branch the following day and was instructed to destroy card and have new one sent out.

So not all calls are bogus!!
