I don't think he's had much of a chance to adapt to the Championship yet. Definitely a great player with good potential.
We're never satisfied as fans - when we got promoted, we were ripping into all the Championship level battlers we had and said they weren't good enough...

what is his Correct position then ?nubbsy wrote:wez1927 wrote:This season he had been lightweight and not suited to the championship at all ,I don't understand the love for him on this board
He's been played out of position in an unorganised team playing poor. Anyone with a football brain can see he's class.

Probably because he's the most technically gifted player to have been at the club in recent years... He runs the show for his country when he's played just behind the strikers in a free role. He's no winger. But I forgot, the club can't do no wrong to you, can it.

You have taken a bit of a hammering here Wez.![]()
I don't think Daehli is a type of player that fits into Slades philosophy. 4 4 2 is not for Daehli.

Most believe just behind the striker, he can play centre with support and while I don't think hrs set the world alight out wide I do think he can play in this position as he does for Norway, but we need to be pressing and higher up the pitch like we do at home.

If we gave him free role we would be battered on the pitch he just doesn't fit in to our system ,this season he has looked very lightweight

Then you have to ask the question, why pick a manager that does not know how to use the quality player he has at his disposal. We are wasting so much talent.

It's one player do you think he's good enough to build a team around ? I don't ,ravel is miles better than mats

He's got loads and loads of ability and potential, I could go on and on, only problem is at his age he's going to be inconsistent on times, this league is a brand new experience for him and it's obviously going to take some getting use to. Some people have short memories, this kid caused problems for defenders in the Premier League and has done it on the international stage, give him a shot and have a bit of patience and he could rip this league to bits. I'm not sure if 4-4-2 quite suits him and I'm not suggesting to change the whole ethos just to fit Mats in but we need to get the best out of the likes of Mats and Morrison because in my opinion they are top talents.

Ravel doesn't even start. Daehli, Ravel, Guerra have been such a waste of talent. Can't see Harris coming through with Slade in charge either.
