Last-gasp winner for Carlos Anton's youngsters.
Jack Alexander struck a late winner to earn City Under-18s a brilliant 4-3 win at Cardiff City.
It was the perfect response from Carlos Anton’s side following the disappointment of their FA Youth Cup first round exit at the hands of Oxford United.
It was a dream start for the visitors, who raced into a 2-0 lead inside seven minutes.
James Difford pounced for the opener, taking over to score from Jake Andrews, who had already rounded the keeper before being brought to ground.
Connor Lemonheigh-Evans made it two moments later, striking home a fine left-foot finish across the keeper from six yards out.
Cardiff fought back through an own goal, after a defensive header slipped through the grasp of Jojo Wollacott.
The hosts were level early in the second half when a neat one-two put Cardiff’s forward in for a simple finish from eight yards.
Alexander’s through ball saw Difford break the offside trap soon after and the forward unleashed an unstoppable half-volley into the top corner.
Cardiff levelled matters once more from a scrappy corner, but City had the last word.
From a flag kick of their own, Alexander arrived at the perfect moment to powerfully head the winner.
