Maybe they/HE have just accepted?

Maybe Tan has accepted that throwing millions away on players isn't solving issues at the club?
Perhaps Slade was bought to the club to steady the ship and balance some (Red) Books?
With Talk ripe of Mats being shipped out and Slade targeting a 30yr old league 1 midfielder, perhaps many should accept that we will have to go a bit further back to eventually move forward
Tan is an alleged admirer of how SWANSEA have achieved their goals, and administration aside may want to follow suit.

Just a Theory of course...

Tony, its exactly what I think he has done, gone from one extent to another, but without some real thought in my opinion.
Thats been his problem from day one regarding Cardiff City.

Perhaps then Tan wants us to be on the brink of relegation to non-league on the last game of the season before we start the long road to the PL?

Or he could wake up and realise we should be in a great position to bounce back to the PL in one season.

I think you're right in that Tan wants to cut costs, but it doesn't make any sense to take so many backward steps when one more forward would see us back in the PL where he can realise the revenue streams he's so desperate to regain. It's like if your house needs a new roof, you don't employ a cowboy builder to knock the whole building down and rebuild it from scratch.

He may want to cut costs but as far as the comparison to Swansea go don't see it. Matts is exactly the kind of player they would nurture. They would sell older players that aren't any good on the ball instead and build their team around players like him and then sell them for profit to a big club when the time is right. Same as southampton does.
And Swansea has a style of football ingrained in club and players, from Martinez to Rodgers to Laudrup to Monk they all believe in the same basic principles. Tan employs Malky then Ole then Slade. They couldn't be more different as managers, we are all over the place.

I was wondering if he is just cutting back bug style and hoping we stay up. Wouldn't be the worst idea.

Still a bit stupid leaving out daehli, his value will increase the better he plays.

Agree with you both, bringing in a league 1 manager with no backroom staff, what else can that amount to?

Vincent Tan wouldn't have the first clue how to run a football club like the Jacks, Swansea never had money but scouted players that fit their system like a glove.
