Really honestly thinking who have we got in our ranks with that burning desire to work hard and achieve success?
Teams like Bournmouth who are desperate to test themselves putting their lives on the line week in week out I bet that group
have sacrificed their lifestyles to try and get to the promised land.
I look at our team and go through the squad list and see players who have had their chance in the top flight, and they have either lost that hunger, made their money secured good contracts or they have tested themselves and believe they are not good enough
for the premier league.
Or they are just so badly out of shape that their best years are behind them now unless they seriously get their shit together and sacrifice some of that luxury they live in for more work on their game and their physical qualities (which is unlikely)
I assume the type of attitude is rife within the squad where they will just play out their careers make a living but they don't want it bad enough, to put their lifestyles and commitments on the front line and strive for success as badly as they want to breath.. Because that's what it takes to succeed at the highest level.
You need to want it as badly as you want breath!
This theory could be wrong, but I highly doubt it, their fitness levels and passion are clear and men who want something bad enough know its their duty to turn up and devote their livelyhoods to football.
And if your not willing to do that I don't want you at my club.
(is what I would say if I was in slades shoes right now)

Absolutely spot on. A brilliant post which sums up where we are going wrong perfectly.

The players I have seen this year with most desire are Brayford, Jones, Fabio and Daehli. Then you have the ability of Ravel, Guerra and the physical Burgstaller. Not all of these have been utilised and now even Fabio is out of the team. What's even worse is some of these players are the ones with most confidence and ambition. Then you have a manager who keeps nagging about players confidence and desire.. Very frustrating to watch.
