Ben Turner says Cardiff City "cannot rely on home form" alone if they are to realise their promotion ambitions.

Monday 10th Nov 2014

Cardiff are still looking for their first away win in the Championship this season after a 0-0 draw at Birmingham.

The Bluebirds are 12th in the table, five points off the play-off spots and defender Turner says away wins will boost their promotion bid.

"We had great form last time we got promoted but we backed it up in the end with away form," he said.
"It took a while but it came and we went unbeaten for a long time away from home."
Manager Russell Slade bemoaned his team's failure to "convert" chances against 10-man Birmingham.
The point against Gary Rowett's side at St Andrews came following a midweek 3-0 defeat at Bolton Wanderers.
Turner, making his comeback following injury, was pleased with the team's reaction after losing on Tuesday.
"It was never going to be easy coming here," Turner added.

"They've had a new manager and on Tuesday we had that new manager syndrome work against us with Neil Lennon and Bolton.
"It was important we stood up to that because teams with new managers are always at it and make it difficult for you.
"But what you have to do when that happens is make it difficult back and it's a test of wills then and I think we stood up well and an away point is a start.
"It's something to build on and we can take the positives from it but we need to start winning away and fast."
Birmingham-born Turner made his first appearance of the season in the draw at St Andrews.
The former Coventry City player had surgery on an ankle he injured in a pre-season friendly against Yeovil in July.
"It was a tough game but it's great to be back out there," Turner said of his return.
"It's what you do all the hard work for to get yourself back playing for Cardiff.
"It's obviously been a long time. I did so much in pre-season and then got injured in the second to last friendly."
