Decent Point BUT

Sat Nov 08, 2014 6:32 pm

Birmingham were there for the taking today. It's good we kept a clean sheet but attacking we were poor really and nothing changed from Bolton with our attacking had we been up against a better side we would have lost that game.

What is concerning for me is that going forward we look very one dimensional, lack creativity and a spark in attack. Strikers are average and average isn't good enough to get you promoted. This game was made for the creativity and spark in attack for guerra daehli and guerra but the sad thing is if they were all fit Russell slade would not have used them anyway and that for me is the biggest concern.

I wanted to give Russell slade a good run of games before making my mind up on him but as things stand now unless he makes changes to personnel and tactics then he is well and truly out of his depth at this level and mid table will be where we will finish this season at this rate under Russell slade imo... It will be interesting to know how many other fans share that opinion???

out of his depth is wrong word, ole might have been as no experience of english leagues but slade as that experience maybe not in champ but then i bet there are several inexperienced managers in champ as well :old:

We look average because he has put his faith in mostly average players, he keeps the more skilful ones at the bench. Very worrying that he sticks with ineffective Le fondre, plus the same 4 in midfield no matter what. Not a lot of creativity there. He dropped the only player that looks a threat going forward tbh.

Some of you lot are incredible, moaning about Slade not playing any creative players away to an improving Birmingham side who had beaten Watford earlier this week. Away from home you have to be solid and hard to beat in this division and after the 3-0 Bolton defeat, Slade has been proven spot on with his team selection. A point and a clean sheet gives us something to build on. If we can keep winning at home and keep more clean sheets away, we will start moving up the table.

We set up,the same as we did v Bolton, just one enforced change and the bizarre removal of fabio. . There's no way turner is anywhere near as good as manga so your theory is incorrect.. Brum were just not a very good side. More like 2 pts dropped today than 1 point gained.

The "bizarre" removal of Fabio (who I think is the best full back in the league offensively, but was at fault for 2 of Bolton's 3 goals last Tuesday) allowed us to have 3 big men in our back 4 which instantly made us a more physical, streetwise outfit to break down, allowing us to keep the clean sheet, so my theory is correct.

Manga wasn't great v Bolton either Davies bullied him all game too, had he been fit he wouldn't av been dropped. The change at back today didnt make much difference on the result, more on brums failure to have any impact in and around the box they lacked quality and shows y the have scored the least amount of goals this season...

They scored against Watford within he first couple of minutes Tuesday. Their results have picked up since Gary Rowett has took over. It was a good point and a good clean sheet which gives us something to build on.

I agree it is something to build on and fair play to slade he sorted out our defence today and was good to have a clean sheet.
But it is concerning that we did not score away from home again? Don't you see that as a concern Tonteg?
We are far too predictable and one dimensional
