Not sure what everyone's love in is with this guy
Yes he scored 16 goals in la liga but it's hardly a great league is it??
RONALDO bangs 60 in a season meaning guerra's 16 looks distinctly average
From what I've seen of him he may be classy but he ain't a team player and certainly isn't working hard for a place in the side
Bad attitude if that's the case and will glad to see him off the wage bill in January if you ain't gonna try and get the short you don't deserve to wear it simple as that

I can 100% state that the staff and players thought he was incredible in pre-season training, and I cannot fathom out quite what has happened since. The only possible answer lies with people here saying that Young has Slade's ear, and whatever he says goes at the moment. I can't give my source, but it is a genuine and well respected one. The same source gave me spot-on feedback on how the players sussed out Cornelius within 30 minutes in training, and how up his own a""e and immature Zaha was. The players are also amazed by Ravel's footballing skills, not so much as a person.

Have you seriously just compared Cristiano Ronaldo's goal return to someone other than Messi?! Those 2 are in a league and world of their own. That's possibly the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard in my life.
La liga is the best league in the world so to call it not great just shows how much you know about football

A 3 team league is the best in the world
Don't talk so much wet for fucks sake
I know nothing about football, outside barca and real and atletico most of the sides would struggle to finish top 6 in the championship
It wasn't a comparison between two of them either merely stating the leage is poor and if RONALDO can score 60 from the wing then 16 from a striker in a poor league isn't that great a return now is it
Jordan Rhodes will smash 20/30 in the championship and would probably hit that and more in la liga but at least he has the work rate desire and passion and right attitude something guerra has shown very little of since arriving here
Guerra showed his attitude when subbed in the bournemouth game where he was a passenger for 35 mins, a big ego and no loss for me if he leaves

Come back mate, when you have actually seen Guerra play regularly. How can you make that judgment on Guerra based on the few games he has played. Guerra was the fittest player at his last club even at the age of 32, his work rate is great, as is his commitment. FACT. Ask any Spanish reporter or anybody that watches La Liga regularly. Also, he was loved and much respected at his last club as he is a really nice guy off the pitch and has not got a big ego, one little bit. Go on, ask around, ask some of the Spanish fans on twitter and u will find out how much this guy is rated. The guy was poor in the one and only game that he has started for us, although the handful of games that he came on as a sub, he did very well. When u see a good player you can spot one straight away and Guerra is a very good player. His awareness, composure and footballing brain were noticeable straight away. Slade will be a complete and utter fool if he does not give Guerra a run of games and he lets Guerra leave in January. For christ sake why can't Slade just give him a chance? What harm is it going to do? Give Guerra the same amount of games in a row that Le Fondre has had and i bet you he would score a few, we as a team would score more and Guerra would create a few goals for the other players, because that is Guerra's game, he works for the team and despite whatever some people say he is a very committed and hard working player. Go and watch him playing for his last club, then you will see exactly how influential and important he is for his team.
Bloooooobirds.

I honestly don't see the fuss about him myself. People saying he's our best striker

Based on what a previous record at another club?
Kenwyne Jones is our best striker ATM.

what 2 teams were in the Super Cup final played at the CCS this year?
it may be a 3 team league, but does not take-away the strength of the clubs lower down.
Sevilla are current UEFA cup holders outside of being a top 3 club in Spain

Have you actually seen him play thus season? Every league game that he has featured this season he has looked sheer class and better than anyone else on the pitch. He holds the ball up, has vision, good link up play and he runs off the ball none of which Macheda does! There is no comparison.

If it's not the best league in the world then why do players like Bale, Ronaldo, Suarez, Modric etc leave the premier league to go there?!
The league is a lot more competitive than people think. I watch it every week. Valencia are making a comeback, Sevilla look strong, Bilbao in champions league also. So there's 6 and you can even argue Villereal & Sociedad will be top 8. There's 8 teams want me to go on?

How can you compare Ronaldo being at real Madrid in La liga and Guerra being at Cardiff in the championship.
I can't remember the stat but wasn't Guerra second top scorer in LA liga is you don't count Ronaldo and Messi?
Personally I have no idea if he is our best striker, the little I've seen he has looked bright and skillful. But it's just plain stupid for him not to be making the bench especially in the absence of Jones. And then add to the fact he is being Ben Turner it just makes the manager look like an idiot.

Well said. Top most. 3 centre backs on the bench instead of another striker. Plain stupidity and stubborn. Does not want to pick Guerra under any circumstances.

It shows how little we know about football down here. We dismiss class easily but rave about journeymen!
Sat Nov 08, 2014 11:45 am
f**k me can anyone read on here
I said he may look class and he has shown glimpses but the guy clearly has an ego
Threw his toys out when substituted before HT, barely got a look in under solskjaer and slade has gone on record to say he isn't working hard enough or doing enough in training to warrant even making the bench let alone the first eleven
So if you read my OP where I say he isn't a team player and doesn't have the desire to fight for his spot then that statement from slade backs up my point
No point being the most talented player in the squad if you ain't willing to work hard and prove t is there
Didn't another manager just say similar about another very talented player from another team in the premier league
Ie Harry redknapp and adel Taarabt
Sat Nov 08, 2014 11:58 am
Nor surprised he threw his toys out in the cup, it was pathetic management.
Different is redknapp has players to fill the bench.
Sat Nov 08, 2014 11:59 am
He's not in the squad today either.
Posted a video on Instagram of him driving to training this morning!
Won't see him in our shirt ever again.

Slade hasn't said anything about his work rate, he only said he hasn't been as good in training as he was in spain.
as for ego and attitude we are prepared to employ and play ravel so it doesnt seem like we are that bothered with stuff like that.
Sat Nov 08, 2014 1:38 pm
The funny things is when he came on as sub he looked he looked keen, bright and always looking to get on the ball. Just the attitude you want from a sub.
Sat Nov 08, 2014 1:39 pm
dear oh dear oh dear, some people just don't have a clue about football
La Liga not a very good league?? are you serious??
Comparing Guerra to Ronaldo?? are you serious??
From what you have seen of him?? isn't that very little to be judging him the way you are??
I really hop Guerra is given a chance to make people like you eat your words, oh and by the way, you obviously don't watch Spanish football!!!

THIS ^^^^^
Luke, I don't get how some people have an opinion on some players without actually seeing them play or seen them very little and not enough to judge. It just makers me laugh when they can't see the bigger picture.

Right so Valencia, Sevilla, athletic Bilbao would struggle to make the championship top 6??

Once some of you learn to read I may respond properly on this thread
Just to reiterate I do watch football
And just cos a few Spanish reporters etc say the lad is class we should take that as the holy grail
I'll go on facts thank you
The manager before slade wouldn't play him that alone speaks volumes
Slade has publicly stated he isn't working hard enough to warrant a starting place that again says it as it is
So my post stating that this guy doesn't have the desire or passion to get in the squad would seem pretty accurate
And quite frankly I stand by the fact in not overly bothered if he leaves in January, if he stays and works his way into the squad and does well then great as that's good for our club
If he continues to not show any desire to even get in the match day squad then he is best off the wage bill as he's probably on 30k a week plus
Tue Nov 11, 2014 7:38 am
Completly agree with most posts... why 3 CB's are picked ahead of him or any other attacking players really concerns me. Good players tend to have big ego's and it is down to the coaching staff to manage them, this includes getting the best out them in training.
Being so publicly critical of a player after such a short time period gives the impression of a manager way out of his depth!
Tue Nov 11, 2014 9:51 pm
People may have not seen him train.
Tue Nov 11, 2014 9:59 pm
He should be given an opportunity as le fondre has. He is a quality player. His head is probably down as he's constantly being over looked. He should be given an opportunity to show what he can do. The only poor game he has played was Bournemouth in the cup where all 11 players where shit and the two in charge at the time were even worse...
Wed Nov 12, 2014 10:28 am
It would be good to see him have game time rather spend most of his time down St.Davids 2 all day.
It would be good for him to be given a full shot under slade.
