Annis no disrespect to Young I just dont think he boasts either the experience or ability to be having such an impact
in a club heading for hopefully top flight
and I don't know what Slade has that Dave Jones didn't other than more passion

You maybe right about rrejects ect ect, but as pointed out pulis only promoted twice in entire career, malky vastly experience with 2yrs at Watford before us, and if you're research further not all good managers get promotion or do well at a particular club!

You cannot say Slade is not experienced regardless of what dividsion he was in.

Agree. I think Tan has gone for the cheap option. Rather than go for experience he has gone with an untested manager at this level and an assistant manager who was sacked by Port Talbot not so long ago.

I was not inspired when Young took temporary charge and in particular the way he dealt with the Guerra incident and the press.
I thought Slade would have gone in and wiped the slate clean but it looks as if he has been persuaded in his team selections.
Still no sign of Guerra, Morrison & Daehli not being used and most baffling - Joe Ralls gets a start in midfield!

Don't agree sorry, you say 'MAlky', he did not have much experience at all , 2 years at most, without much to show. It's not about being a top flight manager, many have tried in Championship and failed, whereas you get managers such as dyche that succeed. It's about getting right group of players, hard work and a big slice of luck. Slade should be backed by us fans til the end of this season at least,.

That my point! Op used pulis/malky as examples and we know why he did that! dyche made malky same as any good no 2 does. Maybe it would have been better to have him than malky in 1st place?
Funny though if and its a big if slade succeeds not one desenting voice will admit to being wrong! :old:

Spot on, a lot can dish the criticism but somehow find it hard to admit they are wrong. Talking about a good #2, I do hope that Young does his bit in the right way, at the end of the day I don't think he was Slades choice, hope if it doesn't work young can be moved aside for slade to bring in his own man .

yes not sure why young was chosen? maybe tan is trying the continuity bit but again chosen wrongly in my opinion! all managers tend to have trusted no2s , maybe in time they will prove to be good but do slade have that time?? :old:

Such negativity on this forum! It goes from 'Slade is doing superb' one game, to he's clueless the next!

Maybe it's just the players letting us down, ever thought of that?

Say that to the 300 or more that suffered that abortion of a performance Tuesday night BUT did not boo the team off the field.

If you read the "We're on our way" thread before the game (not sure that was the correct thread name) I praised each and every traveller as a "true supporter" for going on the trip, which apparently included you, Ian! :ayatollah:

When I said "supporters" in this thread, I was generalising (as many do) about the fact that nothing will please some fans and the negativity on here sometimes is culpable! :(

As a fellow 'Mod' you will know my own (genuine) reasons for not getting to away games this season, as much as I'd like to. I sometimes even struggle for the home games at the moment!

Agree (almost) entirely! I think Scott is running things and he's hardly up to the job. Slade might be a good man manager but Im not sure about his tactical ability.

I can't believe you're still churning out the "Pulis has only been promoted twice" line
