Dave Jones ? Is he tactically as good as some of the championship managers who have done it all before and worn the t shirt, managers such as Holloway, Mick Macarthy etc etc ?

In fairness, Dave Jones arrived with a track record in the Championship, & a promotions to the Premiership under his belt.

He was given a lot of time (Peter Ridsdale saw to that) to build & develop a team that could not only compete, but seriously challenge for honors & promotion. It must also be remembered that he had an excellent, & very experienced coach, Terry Burton, to help him along the way.

Russell Slade, given all his time in football, has only ever managed in the lower leagues, all be it with some relative success here & there. He has an awful lot to prove, & a massive job on his hands. He has also inherited a management team of very inexperienced & uninspiring (IMO) personnel,,,,which I'm sure he would have liked to change.

I think its safe to say that RS will not be give half the time that DJ got, in order build & progress things on the pitch!

Russell slade was one penalty off being a "championship level" manager... let's just leave him to do his job and judge him at the end of the season

Russel Slade was one penalty off getting a First division club promoted. He didn't, & the rest is history.

Dave Jones was two goals away from getting us promoted to the Premiership in 2010, He didn't, & the rest is history.

I'm no judge, but the facts speak for themselves. As for "Championship level" manager, then RS has to earn this, & like you say, let just leave him to do his job!
