A forum for all things Cardiff City

Having read the comments about Mats on here, "building the team around him", Playing him as a 10, he must get in the team somewhere !!!
Would we as a modern day fan base be prepared for the odd average or even poor game from the talented youngster. How long would it take for the he doesn't track back, not scoring enough, no bottle, undropable, too weak, not trained on.....etc threads would appear ?
Would we cheer when the number 20 sign is flashed on the subs board when its not going his way ?
The clamour for promotion, quickly or building something....
Somehow the rebrand always gets brought up, but city in blue, hopefully getting lucky with a talented kid in his real position with the whole crowd with him is my kind of city..... The rebrand has made us nasty, impatient and intolerant or is that just modern football

Its just that we all want to win.
For me the rebrand at the time was a necessity and thats why non of my comments ever mention it. I don't slate Tan but take a more positive view that we'd get the blue back if we only used the right methods. You can read anything into Tan's comments but his recent admission that the rebrand was a mistake should suggest to any right minded individual that he's now becoming open to pursuasion.
I couldn't accept a club with no ambition though, or a manager who can ignore talent like Daelhi seems to have.
For me that's much worse.

I didn't want this to be a rebrand thread, sorry
Eden Hazard is 23, he is the top of his game. How many crap games did he have on his way to the top...Would we have the patience ?

Exactly, Januzaj been benched a lot and is having some crap games right now lots of manu fans are thinking he is not as good as they thought last season. Sterling was benched when he went through a bad spell and the fans turned on him for a minute.
Its happened to all of them at some point.A good club and a good manager aren't just not thinking here and now when they are dealing with youngsters.

His form hasnt been great but for him not to make the bench is more than absurd.
Im pretty sure he plays wide for norway and well. To just leave him out all together just seems like SLade doesnt know what to do so will ignore it.

Yes, he plays wide and is doing well. He also played wide for us last season, and was doing well. Now he has gone from being "the one to watch" to the one to be watching.

Your spot on mate. Although I think it would be a joke if we lost him, he's been extremely underwhelming so far and it wouldn't be long until the usual suspects are calling him shit and useless.
As a fan base we've adopted a ridiculous mentality that because we spend money we should be winning but in reality our club is run by clowns and our players by and large, mercenaries. We win a game and were guna win the title we loose one and were in a relegation scrap. Personally in all honestly I couldn't give a shit about promotion, I just want a club that I can identify with because I'm fed up.

Fickle, impatient and easy to anger.
Nobody can ever win. Ole changes 2-5 players a match and everybody says that's to much, slade changes 1-2 players and that's too little We're winning matches, but people are still complaining because we lose a few (which is football, you win, you lose, especially in this league).
While normally it would inspire a couple of moans, I really do think that most of the animosity from the cardiff fans (and there is a LOT) comes from misplaced resentment due to the rebrand. Still angry (and have every right to be) but you can't keep moaning about the rebrand every week so have to move and moan about other things.

I agree with this.
Of course he shouldn't be played when in bad form but give the guy a run of a few games & keep him involved.
To not make the bench when we have Gabbidon there? Smacks of a job for the boys.
I'm sick of losing talented players over the years & think we could keep Daehli quiet easily in the near future at least.

I don't think anybody thinks Slade should make more than 1-2 changes but a team constantly needs tweaking especially after a performance like that of Bolton.
I'm strongly against wholesale rotation as OGS did but if there were to be no changes against Birmingham then what signal would that send out to the players?
We certainly need to bring in 1 or 2 of our best players IMO - Ravel and/or Daehli with Javi on the bench.
Oh and tell Gabbidon to concentrate on his coaching role whilst all our CB's are now fit!
