TEAM NEWS
UPDATED
Kenwyne Jones is def out.
Bruno Manga is a slight doubt with a calf strain sustained at Bolton in midweek, while Tom Adeyemi was back in training on Thursday and we will see how he is. He may come into contention against Birmingham.
Russell Slade: Ben Turner has had his games outside the first team and he was in the group at Bolton. He would give himself a chance of being in contention for Saturday.
Bruno Ecuele Manga and Ravel Morrison are Cardiff injury doubts
Bruno Ecuele Manga and Ravel Morrison are doubts for Cardiff's Championship game at Birmingham City on Saturday.
Gabon defender Manga injured a calf in Tuesday's 3-0 defeat at Bolton.
West Ham loanee Morrison, a second-half substitute at the Macron Stadium, is doubtful with a knee problem.
Manager Russell Slade said centre-back Ben Turner, an unused substitute against Bolton, is in contention for a first appearance of the campaign after an ankle injury in pre-season.
Admitting he is considering changes, Slade said: "It's been on my mind I've been looking over the last 48 hours at what I may be able to do to give us an edge,"
Slade played down speculation that Norwegian midfielder Mats Moller Daehli could be sold in January.
The Cardiff boss said Daehli had been troubled by a hip injury which they are trying to resolve.
Cardiff City: Russell Slade will make changes and my feeling is that Ben Turner, Anthony Pilkington and Ravel Morrison will be given the nod at Birmingham. Sean Morrison, Joe Ralls and Craig Noone, who needs a rest, the players to step down.
Manager Slade will stick with his 4-4-2 formation and the return of Turner will given him an extra natural leader in the group. Both Sean Morrison and Bruno Manga were well below their best at Bolton, but Manga had been outstanding up to then.
There is a doubt against Fabio, whose defensive frailty cost Cardiff a goal at Bolton, but Slade could stick with him.
Anthony Pilkington, back in training after recovering from illness, looks certain to go straight back into team with Slade saying: “We want him back as soon as he is ready.”
Centre-half Ben Turner and Ravel Morrison are also in line to start, while Fabio’s place must be in danger after he struggled defensively at Bolton and was caught out for at least one of the goals.
Declan John, too, is an attacking left-back with work to do on the defensive side of his game and Slade may even ask Matt Connolly to play on his wrong side. He is not the long-term answer, but Connolly is a consistent and effective defender who can make City more secure.
Turner could take over from Sean Morrison, who, like Bruno Manga alongside him, was some way below his best in midweek. For me, Manga will stay in the team because that is the first time his form has dipped.
The likely line-ups
Birmingham City (4-2-3-1):

Russell Slade says he is considering making changes for the trip to St Andrews.
"We have to get over the Bolton defeat quickly and if that means changes then that will be the case."

The Stadium
Key factsClub: Birmingham City FC
Opening: 1906
Capacity: 30,009 seats
History and descriptionSt. Andrew’s Stadium opened on the 26th of December 1906 with a league match between Birmingham City and Middlesbrough. The stadium consisted of one covered main stand and open terraces on the other sides, with an estimated capacity of 75,000 spectators.
Small improvements were made in the 1930s, mainly by increasing cover, and a record attendance was set on the 11th of March 1939 when 66,844 fans visited an FA Cup match against Everton.
The stadium got heavily damaged in the Second World War, but got soon after rebuilt.
St. Andrew’s Stadium got further redeveloped in the 1950s and 1960s, first with the construction of a new main stand in the early 1950s, then with another new stand at the Railway End, and finally with the erection of new roofs over the Kop and Tilton Road end.
No changes were made in the following two decades, and by the late 1980s the stadium had slowly fallen into disrepair. Capacity had furthermore been decreased to just 26,000 due to safety measures.
In the early 1990s, Birmingham City therefore embarked on a redevelopment program, which started with the demolition of the Kop and Tilton Road terraces. Two new all-seater stands were built in their place.
Works were completed in 1999 with the opening of a new stand at the Railway End.
In the mid 2000s, Birmingham City was involved in plans to replace St. Andrew’s with a 55,000-seater multi-purpose stadium, however these plans never materialised.
