" Russell Slade angered by Cardiff loss Cardiff City "

We'd 5th Nov 2014

Cardiff boss Russell Slade revealed Tuesday night's loss against Bolton caused his blood to boil for the first time since arriving in south Wales.

The Bluebirds chief has had little reason to show dismay at his squad since arriving last month after three wins and only one defeat prior to the trip to Macron Stadium. However, Cardiff's travelling problems were again on show as they were torn apart by a side still occupying a spot in the bottom three.

Two Liam Feeney goals gave Bolton a 2-0 lead inside 36 minutes which prompted a furious half-time team talk from Slade, whose side have not won on their travels in the league since April.

Slade Said
"It's the most disappointing 45 minutes since I've been here so obviously I'm raging, certainly inside," he said. "Certainly we got the reaction and the one positive was we never gave up and we kept going and we kept creating chances but you've got to be ruthless in both boxes and I don't think we were.

The Bluebirds have won just one of 24 league games on the road and will hope to buck that worrying trend at Birmingham this Saturday. But, faced with another struggling outfit in the division, Slade wants to see a much better opening spell from his team. "You have to perform for 90 minutes and not 45 minutes, you can't turn it off and on like a tap," he fumed. "You can't do that in football, you can't suddenly wake up and decide you're going to do something about this now, it has to be from the very first second.

He must take some of the blame for his team selection and tactics.

Let's just hope he's learned a few lessons from Millwall and Bolton and that we see a change of emphasis on Saturday.

Its still early day i know, but i'm slowly getting the perception that RS is a "yes" man,,,all things to all people,,,not his own man.

Why would he take the job in the first place if he was not?

You obviously don't know the meaning of the word "perception".

Paul, as you know it's hard to get proof, without getting people in to trouble, but I've personally been told it on many occasions from people who are reliable, but many say in the club that everything that anyone does even in management has to go through Tan first, even Ole had to ring Tan on a Friday night to tell him who was playing etc I know that the Bournemouth home game, Tan picked the team, even Steve Davies will back me up on that. :thumbright:

I'm sure the 300 odd brave souls who travelled all that way to be rewarded by that pathetic performance were also "angry and not happy at all" Mr Slade.

For reasons already made known. He didn't pick the whole team though and it was only a league cup game so let's not exaggerate things too much

I really don't believe Tan picks the team but if he does I wish he would order Guerra gets given a proper runout

So Tan selected the team against Bournemouth?

Did he also tell Young to take Kimbo and Guerra off before half time?

If Tan had said that Guerra should start it would be a brave man who then withdraws Tan's personal selection before half time.

And why hasn't Tan selected Guerra since?

It sounds like bollocks to me.

First time back for a while and still same nonsense, Tan picking team ! Well if he does why no plaudits to him when we beat forest , Ipswich and Leeds ?? , I don't blame him demanding guerra being picked in league cup , so he should be!

Well I was, and still am. A totally incompetent performance. There were no pluses.

Manager Russell Slade has admitted he was raging in the dressing room at half time in our three nil loss to Bolton Wanderers last night.

Having begun life at the club with three successive home victories, and called on us to start showing some form away from home, Slade said that it was by far the worst 45 minutes showing he had seen from us in his time with us and it was a 45 minute showing he's not going to tolerate and in many ways he knows we could consider ourselves lucky to be only two nil down at the break.

'It's the most disappointing 45 minutes since I've been here so obviously I'm raging, certainly inside. Certainly we got the reaction and the one positive was we never gave up and we kept going and we kept creating chances but you've got to be ruthless in both boxes and I don't think we were.'

The gaffer went on to fume that you also have to play for 90 minutes, you can't pick and choose halves to turn up for and he knows you also can't 'wake up' when you've given yourselves a mountain to climb and expect to be able to rectify the result.

Not a very happy night all round and given the after match pieces in the press are so thread bare, Slade was no doubt keeping most of his thoughts to himself although you would imagine going down three nil to a side in the bottom three certainly saw him get a few of those thoughts over to the players at full time.
