Now I've calmed down

Wed Nov 05, 2014 1:00 pm

Last night I was fuming with that performance, that result. I never like to post knee-jerk reactions on here straight after the game as it can look different the day after.

So how do I feel this morning? The same.

We were awful for about 65% of the match. Manga started well but he put himself in trouble a few times. Morrison was poor. Noone showed bright moments but the delivery was poor. Whitts didn't perform to his recent standards. Gunnar was ok in the first half, but too many misplaced passes in the second half. As for the front two? Very poor. I actually thought Le Fondre had a better game than Macheda, but not by much. Even Marshall could have done better.

Joe Ralls? Abysmal. I have no idea why he's in the team. Nowhere near good enough. Ravel Morrison was good in the second half, and he should have started. He won't want to stay until the end of the season.

Ravel, along with Brayford and Fabio, were the only players to do any good at all. Fabio MOTM easily.

I'll be interested to see if Russell Slade has a re-think of his tactics at Birmingham. 4-5-1 would make sense. Ravel playing just behind the striker when we're attacking. I would also consider starting Ben Turner over Morrison if he's fit enough.

I'll be there on Saturday and we'll have to put in a much better display if we're to get anything. Birmingham will be on a high after beating Watford last night.

Just going through Stockport so a long time until I'm back :thumbright: :(

Ned, your right straight after a defeat like last night,I was fuming and you say some very harsh words, but I have to say,we were well out played by an ordinary Bolton side and I spoke to Bolton fans after and they said they were shocked how awful we were.

Bolton aren't a great side, but they showed us up last night. This away form is a real worry.

Worst thing is I happened to walk past the players' coach after because I had to go to Asda so a bit late before I walked past the front entrance. There were some of them just sat there having a good laugh about something :( :x

We were shown up Ned, that's what hurts, same happened at Millwall and Blackpool and even if we beat Brum which I honestly can't see why not, I do think Slade needs better coaching staff behind him, more experienced.

I feel strongly about this as the more experienced managers will outwit us every time and we won't be going any where this season.

I think we need a better manager and better coaching staff.

The management set up is very poor, the type of set up you would expect for a club struggling to stay afloat.

:ayatollah:

If anything Slade should have been allowed to get his own back team.

Very true, any manager should choose his team. He has to have complete faith in them, does he have faith in Young who he has just met?

Tan offered Young a position and people wonder if Tan is picking the team.

I dont know either way but I dont think Tan is picking the team, if he did I think we would see Guerra more involved as he was supposed to have signed him.

Neither do I Luke but you can understand why some do.

With the players we have out injured, I would like to see this team running out in a 4-5-1 diamond for our next away match:

---------Marshall-----------

Brayford - Connolly - Manga - Fabio

Whittingham -- Gunnarsson

Noone--------------Dæhli

---------Ravel---------

--------Jones----------

Whittingham allowed to push forward when attacking.

Bench: Morrisson, John, Pilkington, Ralls, Eikrem, Le Fondre, Macheda

Jones is not available.

Oh, alright. Anyway, I forgot about Guerra. I would put him on the bench instead of Le Fondre, but with Jones unavailable, Maybe Macheda as a starter (or even Guerra), Le Fondre and Macheda/Guerra on the bench.

Was Scott Young's appointment as assistant manager Tan's choice for so called continuity ?
