' Need To Look At a The Bigger Picture '

Wed Nov 05, 2014 9:06 am

There are people on the forum who say you have to expect the loss like at Bolton, it's just another away game.

What you have to look at is the fact we have not won away in the league all season! With a squad who have shown their ability with 6 home wins against some good teams that is just not good enough. The last 3 on the road have been against bottom teams. Blackpool had their first win against us, Millwall had their first win in 8 and it was a poor performance against Bolton.

Played 3 Lost 3 For 0 Against 5 Points Nil

We have the players in the squad with the ability to win matches so it has to be their mentality when they go onto the pitch away from home. They must expect that they are going to pick up the 3 points against the 'lower teams'.
The away form is just not good enough.

I will get shot down by some on here, but Blackpool away was virtually the same management team, Slade had already watched us at 2 previous games and he travelled to Blackpool by plane and coach with the Squad and even Scott Young said Slade was helping them with advice.

It really worries me that we get beaten by teams when they are really up for it,but are also the poorest sides in the Championship.

From what I heard they did what milwall did just closed us down at every opportunity! Simple really with players we have in midfield, we need to change midfield against brum as sure same tactics will be used, do we have any strong midfield players? :old:

Sounds about right, looks like they just kicked us off the park. What was it 20 fouls to 5 approx. That's just what Millwall did. We need the players to be able to roll up their sleeves and prepare for a battle in some games. Our players may not be up for that sort of football.

That is exactly what happened. When it comes to playing away our squad is turning out to be a right bunch of poofs.

Well said all, couldn't agree more. This is why I keep saying I believe Slade needs 3 transfer windows to assemble a squad with the character required to get results away at the Blackpool's, Millwall's and Bolton's.

We've only won two away games in the last year and a half!

Its the manor of the loss, its like the home team do their homework on us and beat us. We just turn up and meh you know the rest. That's whats worrying me!

If we had lost to Bolton 1 or 2 nil, but we had them pinned back, out played them but they scored say of a freekick and a counter then I can understand that. But we are getting OWNED and look clueless

They did Allan, they closed us down and we allowed them to much space/freedom on the pitch.

Annis on sat it will show if Slade is tactically aware of our shortcomings, no excuses we've been done twice by opposition doing same thing. So can't say wasn't warned!

Been saying for weeks, Whitts especially gets special treatment and the space round him closed, the others need to take advantage of the space this leaves them, especially the Strikers and wide players....
