We were told when Slade came in that his preferred formation was 4-4-2... I would say it's his only system
I can put up with that at home where we should be attacking teams... but away from home ? the home team are expected to come at you and when teams like Blackpool..Millwall and Bolton are at home they are still expected to come at you, and this team don't look confident or good enough to deal with it.
I do not believe Le Fondre and Macheda ..with or without Maynard are strong enough or good enough to be our main striking options. I would rather see a striker with a bit of pace brought in come January.. and play a 4-5-1 with speed out wide and a leader brought in ..in the centre of the park.
It is still my opinion Whittingham and Gunnarrson are not good enough together in the centre of the park.
Ralls is Division one standard at best...maybe that is why Slade likes him
Slade as I have said before is 53 ... if he was that good he would have been in the championship years ago
He is a nice guy ..but we don't need a nice guy
This team needs to be set up differently away from home..because as a team they lack the desire the skill and the confidence to get anything from anyone on their travels...and Slade doesn t seem to be the answer to get them to change either their mindset or their desire.
he obviously doen t fancy Kim..Burgastaller..Ekreim ..but the current crop don't seem up for a fight.
I don't know whether he has ever started with a 4-5-1 ..if he hasn t then I think we may have another stubborn Journeyman manager on our hands. Don't forget this is My opinion..you can have yours and disagree with me by all means.
