That means Guerra is definitely leaving then! Couldn't Burgstaller have been used as a striker? It seems Slade has decided on the players he wants to work with and include in his squad and that's that, regardless of whether they can play a certain position or not.

Very worrying if that's the case.

Perhaps he's used to doing that in League One where he's had a small squad and players have had to be used in different positions but here he has in his squad a player who has scored regularly in the top division in Spain.

Out of his depth?

Guerra was at least in the match squad for the last game, so he can´t be TOTALLY out in the dark. But even if he was, I think I would prefer Velikonja before Turner as a striker. Strange indeed.

Didn't see it but people are saying they put turner up front at the end of in the dvp game, target man. So maybe this wasn't an isolated idea. Fair to say we won't be playing no fluid football with him up there..

The irony is that if we put Turner up front the idea must be that we are going to lump the ball forward from the back and who has been criticized most for constantly lumping the ball forward aimlessly from the back?

Perhaps we can clone him!

Guerra deserves a chance :thumbright:

He did play the last 10 up front in the DVP game, in some sort of crap effort to get the one goal back. In fact he replaced Guerra up there when he was taken off.

In fairness he looked like you'd expect a hoof merchant centre back to look playing up front........... Totally out of his depth!

Turner as a striker, what next Kim as centre half?

Malkys first season against Hull away he ended up playing striker. "Hoof merchant" took the words right out of my mouth.

Oh god, it goes from bad to worse. Leaves Guerra out the squad to have turned on the bench as a striker.

At this rate I'm hoping tan starts to pick the team.

The more I think of it the more I become convinced its Scott Young who is picking the team. Its he who has the gripes with Guerra, Kim, Burgstaller etc. I think Slade is allowing Younrealisesk the personnel while he concentrates on man management and fitness regimes. He probably thought it paid off against Forest and Ipswich but of course away from home we are completely different. I have to say Scott Young fid not impress me during his incumbancy with Gabbiddon so I hope Slade realises now that he should be more hands on in the selection process.

he does I think Scott Young is influencing the squad on match days personally (I like Scott Young but I don't think he should be anywhere near management of a Championship club)

Match day squad has more in it than just the playing squad. Extra players incase of injury illness etc.

Ah right k though he meant as in on the bench, still it's shocking that a player with obvious skill is not even on the bench

Interesting theory

Too many vendettas against players who have wronged the regime. Selection process clearly dictates if you are not on Tan's list, forget about a place no matter how hard you train, the knock-on effect is apathy for the club from high salary earners

Who's your money on as to who picks the team?

Why is'nt Slade interested in Guerra who has an outstanding pedigree and grounding in Spanish football. Why is'nt he been given an opportunity after Ole's departure :?:

who gave Young his position as an Assistant manager to work alongside Slade :?:

All very strange what's happening at the club
