"Iwan Roberts on Peter Whittingham"

"Got a nice left foot but is not a box to box midfielder and not mobile enough for a top centre midfielder in championship and Cardiff city's midfield got dominated today"

100% agree with him and that's coming from an ex pro who knows the game.
We will not get promoted with him in the centre of midfield with a 4-4-2. A good goal now and again with his left boot isn't the full package for a centre midfielder and if you think it is your deluded.

I think you could argue a case for only picking him for home games.

He just does not contribute enough in away games.

Well done Iwan, big respect. Its about time someone says it as it is, instead of mouthing banalities

You could be right David's. Am a fan but can't disagree with that! Great ability and great player but maybe away is a problem.

Spot on. He does my f*cking head in to be honest, I would drop him altogether.

Me too. I wish he hadnt scored those goals against Forest and Ipswich; they've set us back no end

5 man midfield for away games, drop whitts and play ravel/daehli in the hole.

While I agree with the post, set us back??? We won two games city slicker as a result of the goals!

Quite true, I agree but I fear how many we might lose throughout the season by continuing to play him

Haven't seen the game, but teams are trying to stop Whits, did he get special attention and doubling up on him tonight ???

If so why can't the others take advantage of the space ???

How was Ravel when he came on ???

What went wrong tonight ??!

Not one team in the PL came in for him. For me he's a hot and cold player and nothing in between. I totally agree that city will not be promoted with Whitts starting every game! Grant Leadbitter of Boro, is a player we could do with!

Iwan also said along with the other comentator that Rawls was the outstanding midfield player for city and he would move him to the central position...not exactly in line with after match reports from this site and newspapers.....uuuummmmm

I saw the match and Ralls was very constructive, neat and tidy. Very effective in fact but apart from Gunnar no support in midfield ....hmmmmmmmmmmm

Donkeys years ago yes. Aston Villa had the measure of him!

Let's all praise daehli who played a handful of games and criticise one of our greatest ever players.

The anti whitts brigade sicken me. He deserves better. Must ask himself why he showed our club so much loyalty over the years when a lot of the fans show him none.

I have a 4 yr old at home who's opinion on football I'd rate higher than Iwan Roberts.
