Add your questions for Russell

Why oh why do we need 2 centre backs on the Bench, never mind 3?

f**k knows ! Guerra is class but probably pissed off with the certain members of the
staff etc......But given a chance he would get fitter and could well be massive, in this league.
Was gutted when I got the result tonight,,,,,,,am now pissed !

Did you say that after 3 consecutive home wins?

When are people going to realise Russell is doing his best with Ole's squad and it will take him at least 3 transfer windows to clear out this mess he's inherited and assemble his own squad? THEN we can fairly judge him!

Re: Add your questions for Russell

Wow cardiff fans never cease to amaze me yes we were shite tonight but really he's win 3 out of his first 5 games Jones was a big loss IMO I think he's the best foward to start away from home.

No offence but if you cannot see a problem with having 3 f*cking centre backs on the bench in front of the likes of Daehli or Guerra then you are wearing blinkers

I agree, & if that's not Russell Slades bad judgement, then it most certainly is Scott Young's!

Slade is currently picking from a pool of 20 player's. It's becoming increasingly obvious that he's been influenced by Scott Young in the choice of those players. Poor management really, alienating players because your assistant doesn't like them.

Spot on..,

Playing ralls as a utility player wherever required, yet you proven international players who can fill that role alienated

Nonsense.
Although this squad is slightly overrated there's enough talent here to not need 3 transfer windows.
The main problem is he's leaving our most talented players out & seems tactically inept at the moment.
You've got to find a place for your best players & start to build a team around that.

It's not nonsense because talent alone isn't enough. You need so much more than just talent alone to succeed at this level. We have lots of talented players who are mentally not good enough to succeed at this level, because of their attitude, lack of effort, lack of intelligence and lack of positional sense. Russell said we are a quiet bunch and that's because the majority of our squad needs leadership and direction, because they're not mentally strong enough. Our away games show the majority of our players are not mentally strong enough to succeed at this level, so Russell will need 3 transfer windows before we can judge him fairly imo. We can write off this season, give Russell at least the January window and next summer to assemble a squad more to his liking and then it will be fair to judge him.

I absolutely agree that talent on its own is not enough. Attitude, lack of effort etc. - again I agree but that can be changed with a good manager & a few tweaks in personnel & bringing in your better players. A couple of his own players, maybe, but this squad is good enough for promotion.
He's too blinkered - the complete opposite of OGS.
I am ,however, 100% behind him & I believe he will quickly learn.

I totally agree. I think Scott Young is having a big input into team selection. Lets be honest Macheda has scored 3 goals since Slade has taken over however I cannot see how anyone would pick him before Guerra or Jones prior to that point. Ralls now features regular having been given a run out by Young.

Two of the best players Guerra & Daehli are not getting a look in & a 442 away from home is far too predictable and we have not got the midfield to cope with that. I would be happy with a 4-5-1 away from home which gives us more of a chance of picking up points.

I wouldn't say Russell is too blinkered just yet. Millwall was disappointing but Russell picked the same team last Saturday and the team responded magnificently. Every player last Saturday did enough to keep their place but last night, they let us down again. Russell says there will now be changes, so lets see what he does for Birmingham.

I've seen it all now, people defending slade for having 3 CBs on the bench. It doesn't matter whose square it is you use what you have to the best of your ability.

Burgstaller, ekriem, Guerra etc would have all been more use than having defender.

Slade starting to show his league 1 qualities sadly.

do you need to be in league one to be putting 3 defenders on the bench then? :?

Obviously being in football for so long you knew that Cardiff fans are dickheads but after some fans calling for your head after a losing streak of one game did you really realise how f*cking stupid and out of touch they really are ?

No it just shows he hasnt a clue how to manage a squad. Im guessing in league 1 he didnt have to deal with such a big squad, at times chucking what he had available on the bench.

We have a huge squad and a group of players being frozen out for what seems no reason while putting 3 defenders on the bench. Its just pathetic. If someone can give me one reason or even half a reason why we would want 3 defenders, infact 3 central defenders on the bench ahead of players like Daehli, Burgstaller, Ekriem, Guerra then please let me know as I cant think of one.

My exact sentiments, were we hoping to get a lead then put them all on and park the bus?
Another thought, any coincidence Bruno has his worst game and also Morrison was poor, what could they have been thinking seeing 3 CB's on the bench after performing well recently?
