Rudy is doing great for Blackburn but to be fair Jones is doing a lot better than people have anticipated.

It amazes me how people still harm on about this guy.
We got rid of him whilst we was in the PREMIER LEAGUE!
He was no where near good enough for us in our Championship winning season, so did people not want us to build our team as if we were going to stay in the Premiership and instead build cautiously and keep players that were NOT good enough for TOP Level football? Just by luck he signed for a club who suits his level, a mid table championship team with a star striker who the defenders worry about more. We have a MUCH better quality of strikers right now so NO we should not have kept Rudy Gestead.
Looking at that Table should we also have kept Cameron Jerome for seasons incase he came good again?

well now we sold Jerome for the money we were desperate for
if your going to comment about a player at least give him some respect and spell his name right gestede
and yes we should of kept him and hes proving that by scoring more than 20 goals since he has been playing for Blackburn ( and yes a couple of those goals were in cups and friendlies ) but he has got 19 league goals for them so far
we got a pittance for him and he was not on a big wage ie 37k a week like your comparison
and jones has also found his level playing for a mid table championship side at present and would not do a job in the premier league should we go up so theres 2 different points of view

I don't think it would have hurt to have kept him and sent him out on loan for the full season last year.

When he was with us he wasn't scoring enough or performing well enough so I don't think anyone can really dispute us letting him go at the time. He's done well at Blackburn but they play a tactic that suits him, a more aerial one if you will.
I'm glad he's doing well at Blackburn, he's a nice guy. However, I don't think it was a bad decision to let him go when we did.

He wasn't given a run of enough games to judge whether he'd have been a success for us or not and when he did play, he was played up top by himself, where we just kept punting long balls up to him, which whenever he won, went straight to an opponent!
At Blackburn however, he's playing up front with Jordan Rhodes, who has also benefited from playing alongside Rudy!

Nobody given a chance, some of our fanbase can be complete and utter bell pieces.
Some people wanted KJ out.
