I would like to see either Ravel Morrison or Mats Moller Daehli in our starting eleven but with Russell Slade opting for a 4-4-2 I can't see either of them getting a run of games from the start but both being used as impact substitutes.
Slade likes to go with partnerships through the middle and uses old fashioned wingers, which I don't see Ravel or Daehli as that type of player.
When Ole was using the 4-5-1, I thought that system would suit Daehli.
Both are exceptional talents but can we integrate either of them into the 4-4-2 ?

I certainly wouldn't be changing to much at the moment. daehli needs to do more with his opportunities and although ravel is a great talent but looks a bit over weight to me.
Your right though they don't fit very well into a standard 4-4-2

If Whittingham goes to shit, Morrison will be a straight swap for him.
Sun Nov 02, 2014 4:22 pm
Pilkington for me has been a big disappointment and I would pick Daehli or Ravel ahead of him every time.
Just don't see what he offers to the team at the moment.

I don't think it will happen. They are not slade players. He sees them as luxury players IMO. He likes a less gifted but more predicable player that runs a lot. Hence his love for ralls and Gunnar.

If we lose daheli in January it will be a massive mistake

I hope I'm wrong but this is why I think slade might fail to deliver promotion and ultimately fail at this level, because he over looks players with quality like ravel and daehli and can't find room in the team for such talented individuals, if this carrys on and the standard old fashioned 4-4-2 doesn't work against the better teams in this division this would show slade as being tactically poor and poor that he over looks and can't fit talented players like this in his team. Time will tell I guess

WTF are some of you talking about ?????
We were a team of individuals doing their own thing, we now are playing like a team.
Ole was trying to shoehorn his protege into a system that only delivered his dismissal.
Matts needs to understand the default base set up of football and Ravel isn't ours- Why change
Sun Nov 02, 2014 8:14 pm
Both will have opportunities to impress but at the moment both whitts and gunnarsson are playing some of the best football as a pairing they have managed together since gunnarsson signed and It would be hard to break that up at present. However there are still loads of games left and the way in which they come thick and fast changes will be made.
Agree with some of the comments on pilkinton I have been underwhelmed with some of his attacking play but have been impressed with some of his donkey work for the team but surely that's not what he's been signed for. Would like to see more of ravel and it might be more suitable for him in away games where we might play an extra midfielder rather than the two upfront but dhaeli is a straight swap for whitts in my eyes and nothing else.

Yeah I am sure they didn't teach the default base set up of football at Man utd, they only teach that at Leyton Orient. Matts needs a reeducation...

Ole would always find a place for the better players some how.
How did that work out for us ???
Winning three out of four after playing shit for months and people want changes

I am more than happy with how Slade is going about his business.
I asked the question because the two players mentioned are very talented and I genuinely cant see them fitting into the current system, that is not a dig at Slade and I don't believe he should change his system either.
Just a shame that talent such as these two are not getting much game time and we as fans are not seeing the talent.
An observation not criticism.

Ravel could if he loses the baby fat play the Whitts or Alf role
Matts can play the Whitts or the wide midfield roles.
Great cover

Two good teams I agree but I'm talking about the likes of derby,Norwich Watford aswell..And them two games were at home aswell, be interesting to see if using the same formation and system home and away all season will be good enough and will we become too predictable that's all I'm saying. I think against some teams and especially away it might be better to mix it up a bit with fresh faces and a slight change of tactic. I might be wrong but like I said time will tell I guess.

Llan bluebird is bang on with his posts and bluebina! While we would love to see these guys in, it was very much a need to get back to basics, being a team and this we have achieved! I don't think slade is naive not to know the talent at his disposal, he has steadied the ship and will integrate these players when the time is right! They will play a huge part! Unfortunately while some might say pilkington make way what he doesn't offer in one department he is bigger and stronger and knows this division

There isn't endless time left really i mean ravel leaves in january. Matts will probably leave then too if he can't get any games. imo.
I don't know what to do because the team is working fairly well as it is, but maybe give one of them a proper chance instead of subbing Joe Ralls on every single time and every single position??

Just a thought….

If they were say both on the bench or one was playing and one wasn't I would usually expect them to be both on together at some point.
To have two talents who can create things. I remember one game where I think Janzuaj, Kagawa and Mata all started v Newcastle away last season and it was strange to see 3 preferred CAM's all playing on the field but they were interchanging and tore them apart.

Stringfellow: I really hope that you are right.
LonCar: I am afraid that you are totally spot on.
