Was great in out promotion winning season, struggled in the prem with ball retention and was never same player after injury! Now back to his best, strong and hungry and a key player in my opinion!

Got tired and sloppy towards the end but he has been excellent since slade joined. I think it's more about knowing his role in the team. Under ole and at times under malky he looked lost.

I think Slade has tied an invisible rope to him and Whitts, they are now playing as a pair. The only break in the first half was when gunnar was miles upfield of Whitts, it didn't happen too much in the second half

In my opinion I would give him the captain's armband, Marshall is showing no signs of leadership on the pitch. :bluescarf: :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

Now they are playing as 2 central midfielders, before it was attacking mid (Gunnar - bizarre idea) and 'quarterback' (Whitts -stupid idea and stupid term  )

Not surprising they are looking more comfortable.

Only worry is if one of them gets injured (as happened last week)
