can we stop the stadium announcer

Sat Nov 01, 2014 1:46 pm

From saying 'support the boys and make some noise'.

It completely kills any atmosphere in the ground. Every time he does it there is silence straight after as he is totally over the top.

Keep him on. Just don't let him do that stupid thing just before kick off.

I always half expect John Cena to come out of the tunnel instead of the team after hearing that.

It's like reminding the crowd who have bought tickets and turned up that they need to remember to support. A but patronising tbh.

Better off saying "C'mon Bluebirds!". At least it sounds like he is a supporter too.

At the moment it is very cringey.

He does as he is told. He's to afraid not to, another yes man. He was told to drop Cardiff City the Bluebirds when we run out, to just Cardiff City, pathetic really :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Any chance we could drop that dreadful Men of Harlech too? I can't understand why an awful lot more is not made of Little Pick and Shovel instead. After all it is our song :bluescarf:

Learn to speak Welsh and you may understand a bit more of what Ali is up to. Top announcer and also a Bluebird like most of us.

Ali always talks in Welsh every game without fail. He always mentions gleision, which means blue in welsh. Ali has toned it down over the years but i think he should carry on doing what he does, its about the only thing remaining of the old Cardiff City.
Does anyone remember Ali and his lords prayer? :ayatollah:

Ali does a great job. You may remember when he was sidelined years ago at Ninian for a while and we had some local DJ. Suffice to say Ali was soon back. Can't forget the legendary playing of Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves either.

I remember the first time he did it at Ninian Park, the crowd f*cking erupted and it really did build the atmosphere up massively. Since then he pretty much carried it on...but it died a death a long time ago.

Our atmosphere nothing to do with the announcer. But I do have a beef he will not say Bluebirds most probably on Twats orders.

Ali does say 'Bluebirds', in English, usually in the build up, when he first announces the team line-ups. About 2.30 today.

He spoke Welsh today, as he always does. He always says 'Adar Gleision', which means 'Bluebirds'.

It's pretty obvious that he's been told not to mention our nickname during the game, but he's doing his best. As somebody else said, Ali is a bluebird, who knows the score, but he's also a club employee, so he has to box clever.

Ali is one of us, and a link to simpler days, now sadly lost. :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

He works at the Arms Park these days as well and has to get the crowd going there.

He's made to chant 'come on everybody - CARDIFF, CARDIFF, CARDIFF'

And yes he calls us the Blues in Welsh every game. And he announces stoppage time, attendances etc etc yn Gymraeg first.

You couldn't make it up. An obvious newbie doesn't like what Ali has been doing for years!

Others wanting Men of Harlech dropped.

Is this the club that is fighting for its heritage?

I like him. Just don't do the bit before the game.

Is that okay.

We need to get some SLADE on" c'mon on feel the noise !!!!! " not bloody Bob marley - its never stuck
