Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan said he believes that the row over the change in the club's colours helped put it on the world football map.

In a BBC interview in Singapore, Mr Tan said he did not believe the decision was a mistake although it had been "challenging".

"Cardiff became more famous around the world as a result," he said.

"It was reported everywhere in the world that it had this crazy owner who changed the colour from blue to red. Suddenly everyone knows about Cardiff."

"They said I was crazy, I was mad, I was the worst owner."

Mr Tan said there were lessons from clubs like Swansea City on how to do well on smaller budgets.

He also says

◾He wishes he had sacked manager Malky Mackay earlier last season
◾He believes he now knows how to run Cardiff City sustainably and still make a profit out of football
◾As well as new American interests he is in negotiations to buy into an unnamed European club.

I've just re-read the OP:

This is worrying because we are not in the in the same position as the jaxx were a few years back. To suddenly talk about running on a tight budget after investing heavily takes away the very last benefit of having a wealthy owner. That, coupled with the news he is eyeing a portfolio of 4 clubs makes me think he is going to withdraw financial backing. He says too that he can make CCFC profitable. In the short-term, this means getting promotion quickly or cutting budgets, or both.

If this is the case..... HE HAS TO GO ASAP.

I don't like comparisons with other clubs, especially our annoying neighbours.

It's time for the fans to take the club back.
