Tickets for troops

Fri Oct 31, 2014 8:34 am

If anyone on here is serving there are tickets available for free for Bolton, Birmingham, Bournemouth and Watford games. (Home fans only however). You may be posted somewhere nearby, enjoy!

Shame our club doesn't take part in this.

without causing a stir and being called a tw*t, but why should troops get free tickets? .... i work my b*ll*cks off to buy 2 season tickets every year and pay my taxes like every other working man. No one forces people to join the forces these days they do it off their own backs. so pay up like everybody else!

Good for you. Maybe the company you work for can set up a nationwide scheme and arrange it all as a goodwill gesture. Oh wait... They probably won't. If they did you'd get in on the freebies!

It's actually done as a charity if you are not aware. Most tickets are given away but ask for a small donation. That money then goes to help soldiers charities. The actual 'tickets for troops' organisers simply ask people for tickets and they supply them. It's not a case of squaddies getting more freebies. Just a fantastic scheme set up by a charity. Knock it if you like, but it works well.

If you show your army ID at the ticket office they do a reduced rate for the forces. My boy
Gets a ticket for £9.50.
Sorry if that upsets anyone who has paid full price for their season ticket and worked hard
all year to get it but I can honestly say to you haven't seen your mates blown up at your
Place of work have you.
Think before you post next time tw*t

Funnily enough us in the forces pay our taxes too.

I agree with you. No one in the forces is not a volunteer. However if we didn't volunteer then people would be forced to do it do better for that to happen.

The tickets for troops is giving something to us as we have many who commit the ultimate sacrifice ensuring twats like you can write any old shit on a message board. And boy do you take advantage of that.

If anyone ever goes to the States, some theme parks give free entry to their troops if they show ID but their armed forces are shown a lot more respect there than over here. It would have been good today if there had been some vets and serving personnel,on the pitch when the minutes silence was held. Every member of the armed services deserve the utmost respect, whether they are professional,part-time or reservists. I'm glad we're out of Afghanistan now,so our service personnel are no longer wasting their time over there.

Companies reward us for our sacrifice and our service to the public, we don't ask for it! We don't get over time and we pay taxes too by the way! Beats me how you've got a problem with us getting a little back from the people we are protecting! Each to their own though I guess.

They get them free then have to give a donation for the ticket. This money then goes to an armed forces charity.
