IOS 8

Sun Oct 26, 2014 8:59 pm

After giving it time to iron out any bugs, is IOS 8 worth downloading? I'm using and iPad mini so don't know if it will work well on an older device rather than something new like an iPad Air.

Anyone else downloaded it on an iPad mini?

It's abysmal, Safari is still buggered on my air. I've installed chrome and that at least doesn't freeze. Still plenty of issues on safari eg cannot use my location on bbc website.

There is another update available 8.01 but I am not going to download it as I have read on Apple community forums that it doesn't fix the safari issues that I, along with others, are experiencing.

I come very close to binning my iPad yesterday after spending 35 mins writing a post on this forum and my safari froze and I lost the post, not the first time it has happened but on a regular basis.

Very frustrating, so much so, I have put on hold my purchase of an iMac.

In our household there are 4 iPhones and 3 iPads and I have been left very disappointed by apples disregard of people who have purchased older products befire the launch of the iPhone6.

My advice do not download iOS 8.

I have issues on my iPad. Same as you guys with safari freezing. Works perfect on my iPhone 6 though and fast as hell. Using it with Yosemite on the Mac makes it even better, so i wouldn't hesitate downloading it if using with other devices.

Who's using safari? Chrome > Safari.

All large writing should be done in Notes as it's constantly backing up.

Ios 8.1 brings back Camera Roll. Worth it for that alone.

8 working fine for me.

I don't use Safari though, other than for youtube videos (not a fan of the app). It's all working okay really.

Can't update it, my iPad and iPhone are both 16gb and don't have the room required. So il stick with this until I jail break it :laughing6:
