Really annoys me when Managers, fans and pundits refer to a game played as a shift. it's a 90 minute game not a shift FFS!
Just heard Stuart Pearson say it on the FLS.
A shift is when you go underground for 8 hours and when you come up someone else goes down, for example!

if you give 100% for 90 minutes it feels like a shift, i've played amateur football like many here and feel like putting my feet up when i get home
they don't turn up at ten to three then hop in the car at 5.00. i'm not saying they are slaves, but its high intensity stuff.
you'd be on your knees after 10 minutes of professional football, they run probably 10-12km of high intensity runs and collisions etc per game.

It maybe all about the passion if the game for us, but to the players, they are going to work I guess
