I always like to see someone in the middle who puts their foot in and kicks people about. Can have footballers around them to do the fancy stuff.
Our midfield is too lightweight - all good footballers but who does the dirty-work?

if you have players that can play, why do you need to kick the opposition? its such an antiquated view that belongs in the 80's or 90's.
i would have thought players with the required technical ability plus physicality would be beyond our price range. its easy to say, buy a player that will stick his foot in, but the same people are on here in a couple of weeks saying 'lets get some players with technical ability back in the fold'.
best just leave it to the manager methinks. you can't win em all.

I think it's more a case of us lacking a leader on the pitch, just not enough strong characters in the side.
He was limited football wise, but Hudson was a leader and would have been ideal for what we need, yet we let him go.
Let's be honest , it's not as if Morrison is any better than Hudson , in my opinion Morrison is a liability at centre half !
We need a leader on the field and yes if that person was a central midfielder it would be ideal !
We can blame ref all we want but we were bullied yesterday and we needed someone to stand up and be counted , someone who said to the team we ain't putting up with this !!

Gunnarson - went off injured
Adeyemi - injured
Dikgachoi - injured
Our 3 defensively minded central midfielders are all out injured. That changed the game yesterday

I dont think a leader would have made Whitts or Ralls anymore physical.
