David Marshall

Without a doubt the best shot stopper I have seen during over 40 years of following Cardiff.

Also one of the worst at dealing with high balls into the area whether from crosses or corners.

Stays on his line too much, flaps at the ball, punches when he should catch it and is not strong enough when challenged by opposition players.

I think he's actually much better suited to the Premier League than the Championship as there are fewer high balls lumped into the area in the Premier League.

So again there is another comment on here regarding millwalls goal...... Which is pathetic!

No way should that have been rewarded! If at anytime a keeper gets infringed it's a foul..... Well any other ref would have blown.

He's not just a shot stopper, a top keeper who has worked hard on this weakness which he had when he first arrived! Granted its not his strength but brings me back to my other post about the perfect player! Best gk in my 27 years watching city

This is not a comment just about Millwall's goal.

It's an observation covering the whole of the time Marshall has been with us!

David's I agree that he is more suited to prem but not the worst ever seen under crosses! Not his strength but good hands and a top gk

There was also a cross that sailed over his head early in the game. Seemed to be a day of refs not giving fouls on gk. WBA vs crystal palace had 2 goals which should have been disallowed for it.

Marshall is the best shot stopper I have seen, if he could command his area like somebody like Neuer he would be 1 of the best keepers in the world.

But he doesn't and that's why he plays for us, great keeper and loyal player!

Despite my criticism in my original post I absolutely agree with you.

Marshall was fouled, the Millwall player went in with his elbow, fact.
