Mick McCarthy: “It wasn’t his first win was it? He’s been there as a consultant, but to get a win when it’s your first official game as manager will have boosted them. He changed a few things around and will have been delighted.
"They’ll be full of it, but then I look at it the other way. They were always going to get a win, so why not let it be Saturday (v Forest) rather than Tuesday against us? There’s all sorts of ways at looking at it.”
