Former players returning with new club

I always think it's a bit strange how some ex-players returning get a positive response from the fans and some get a not quite so positive one!

I suppose the yardstick is whether the particular player has said or done anything which can be perceived by the fans as disrespectful to the club.

That may explain why Cameron Jerome never gets a good welcome but someone like Joe Ledley does.

Can't remember what Chris Gunter did wrong but he's another former player who never gets a warm welcome when returning and Chris Burke has never really been welcomed back ( probably because he wanted to move to be closer to his family and then went only as far North as Birmingham).

Earnie of course was always asked to do the Ayatollah (and always obliged) as did Ramsey last season.

Loovens and Andrew Taylor also got a decent reception this season.

Is this the same with all clubs? I would imagine it probably is.

Gunter overdid the celebrations against us when he played for Forest.

I will always applaud a returning player as the team is read out, but cringed when Rambo came to the CCS last season and people were applauding his goals!

Gunter refused to do the ayatollah, told a section in the Ninian Stand to f**k off, and then celebrated like he just won the Champions League when Forest beat us a few years back. So yeah, our fans don't really like him anymore.

Burke is still class.

I loved Burkey when he was here - scored some absolute cracking goals.

Having said that, in a straight choice between Burkey and Noone I would have to go for Noone!
