Joe Ralls insists Cardiff's win against Nottingham Forest can kick start their season

JOE RALLS believes Cardiff’s season has only just begun.

New boss Russell Slade celebrated his first game in charge with a surprise win over previously unbeaten Nottingham Forest.

And Ralls is confident the Bluebirds have finally drawn a line in the sand.

Cardiff were one of the pre-season title favourites aftere dropping out of the Premier League in May.

But a desperate time under ex boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer left the club at the wrong end of the table.

Ralls said; “It feels like we are starting our season again.

“The gaffer spoke to us before the game about starting from here.

“He said he wanted us to start our season with a win and a good performance.

“The gaffer spoke to us before the game about starting from here”

“Barring the goal we let in late on, we did both. I thought we looked really strong.”

£5m defender Bruno Manga was a tower of strength alongside Sean Morrison in City’s back four.

Peter Whittingham and Aron Gunnarsson were also far more combative in midfield.

Ralls added: “We have to be strong consistently. We have to start making it difficult for sides to break us down.

Forest could have been two up inside 20 minutes before Federico Macheda’s put Cardiff ahead with his first league goal for the club.

Whittingham then made it 2-0 from 20 yards.

Britt Assombalonga scored two minutes from time for the visitors and said: “Had we have scored early on I think we would have gone on to win the game.

“Thankfully, in this league, the games come thick and fast.

“We will be looking to put things right against Watford on Tuesday.”

The comments from these Forest players are really encouraging as they really think they deserved to get something out of this game Even their manager accepted that Forest's performance wasn't good enough.

Let's hope Forest continue with their delusions of grandeur, "if the game had been longer we would have won" and "if we had scored earlier we would have won" are classics.

Neither happened, and the latter didn't look likely to happen, so tough. You lost, you deserved to lose, and you never looked likely to win it ............... FACT.

Wow another case of the notorious negative (probably someone who only watches the team when a stream is available) famous back biting Cardiff fans, no wonder are supporters are rapidly becoming laughing stocks.
